Told my son I'm claiming my new TV back and watching the game. He can play video games tomorrow or use the switch but I'm enjoying the game in 65 inches of UHD .

    It's the Steelers.

I would watch them in a boat.
And I would watch them with a goat.
And I will watch them in the rain.
And in the dark. And on a train.
And in a car. And in a tree.
They are the Steelers, the Steelers you see!

So I will watch them in a box.
And I will watch them with a fox.
And I will watch them in a house.
And I will watch them with a mouse.
And I will watch them here and there.
Say! I will watch them anywhere!

I have removed the NHL from my life, despite being a huge hockey fan and having Maple Leafs season tickets. I didn't watch a single game of the playoffs after political events took over sports.

I didn't feel the same hatred towards the NFL, because games weren't canceled in favour of politics. Then I saw what the Steelers are planning. I do not want to discuss it as politics isn't allowed, but I'm strongly thinking about removing the NFL from my life as well. I just don't know if I can watch. I have some serious soul searching to do over the next 6 hours.

Everyone has to stand up for what they believe in and do what they feel is right.

Please do not quote my post or debate it or this will just end up being locked too. Just stick to the question.

If they started at 7:10 all the time I wouldn't mind night games.

People need to realize sports is entertainment. Need to stopping putting these leagues and players on a pedestal like they are better than anybody else. Who cares what they say or do it means nothing. Do you want to be entertained or no?

I'd have more respect if you stopped watching because the Leafs have sucked for a long time. Their owner is making bank and selling out every game and refused to spend money for the longest time. Leafs are starting to turn it around though. Then the NFL is rigged. But at the end of the day it's sports... "entertainment"

If James harrison never went to the patriots then all the bad things in 2020 wouldn’t have happened.

Just a word to the wise.

Do not test us. Keep politics off this board.

That said, you should add a poll.

I don't want to debate this. Debating it is impossible without leaving the politics out of it.
I don't expect athletes to be angels and they're definitely not role models of mine, but at the same time, if watching them frustrates or angers me, then is that really enjoyable?

I can handle losing. Winning and losing is the game. What frustrates me is the extra curricular stuff. It always has, that's nothing new. For example, Ben's actions once upon a time bothered me. AB bothered me. The list goes on. At some point, it's no longer enjoyable to watch.

Most fans can ignore the extra stuff and just be entertaining. To them I say enjoy the sport for what it is. But there's some like me who can't tune out the extra stuff. Perhaps it's my line of work, perhaps it's the fact I'm very principled, but I will have a decision to make about the Steelers. Right now, I'm very emotionally conflicted. I'll leave it at that.

Just try to be good people. We won't always have the same opinions, but maybe try to see some one else's point of view.

I have no idea what is like to be black. I'm not black. I am not racist. I judge how your treat me and how I treat you back the same way.

Most of the terrible people that I have know in my 35 years on planet earth are white, that is mainly because I have lived in very rural part of America.

At my high school of 500 kids (grades 9-12) we had only 3-4 or black students.

When I went to college that changed got to know a lot more black students, and never had a racial or any other problem in those years.

Now days I live in the same rural part I grew up in, there are a lot of people that make me shake my head, I thought racism was really gone, it's not.

You can't talk until you have been in another's man's shoes. I don't know what it's like to be in those shoes. On the flip I have no idea what it's like to be a Police officer. My wife is a school teacher she worked with a lady who husband was PA state trooper he went to domestic disturbance call, and was ambushed in a murder/suicide, on a call with his partner, he left behind two kids, he was white, and the guy who shot him was also white.

So at the end of the day no matter if we are white, black, or another ethnicity we call all do bad things.

Try to be a good person, control what you can control be accepting.

I will be watching but like you my interest level is waning for the same reasons. I really had to soul search and consider whether I wanted to continue watch a product like NFL football succumb to pressures and becoming politically charged. I really just wanted 3 hours not to watch anything other then football. Is that too much to ask. On another related note I found it uncanny officials wearing masks but players are not. Can they not do the same pregame tests on officiating as they do on players

So something they do off the field or for a min before the game angers you? Why don't you just tune in when the game starts and stay off social media. Problem solved.

Getting mad because the game is rigged makes more sense to me then the actions of one player in a huge organization I've been a fan of for decades.

To answer the poll question, of course I will be watching!! It is a Steelers Football Game. That said, it will be interesting to see how the players react to no fans.

Definitley looking forward to seeing Minkah, T.J. and Cam on the field again. Chase Claypool should get some snaps; 12 hopefully but I see 10 or so. Big Ben coming back is still the main focus here.

I'm watching the game. Nearly everything one enjoys in life comes with annoyances. At my age, I've learned to adjust.

I have a Board meeting at 7:30. Usually runs about 1 1/2 hours. And I will DVR it to later watch the middle.

So, I’m guessing I’ll watch the first quarter, then the 4th then the 2nd then the 3rd.

You would think it would be easy given how much some hate politics in their sports.

To answer the question, of course I’m watching. it’s a 7:15 game, what pansy ass would a 7:15 game be too late for.

Our select fine friends and fans across the pond might take exception to this but they have to be used to it by now. Midnight at the Oasis watching Steeler Football, now that's the ticket. :thumbs up::drinks:

It’ll be on at like 2am here, so as much as I want to see the first game in real time, I’ll catch up in the morning. My days of all-nighters and work the next day are sadly long gone...
