Players talk about field conditions affecting their play all the time, heck half the league has complained about the turf at Heinz field being torn up by October and how crappy it is to play on. I don't see where anyone in there said the bad field was why they had a less than stellar showing or for the loss, they just said it wasn't the safest surface to play on.

That's where I was headed with my thoughts. When other teams complain about the conditions at Heinz, it's often after they lost. And while it seems to be true of Heinz, we don't hear the steelers complaining about it. Most fans call the other teams that complain about Heinz whiners who got beat making excuses. Just seems hypocritical to whine about another field when your own field is well known to suck.

I don't know about the Vikings themselves but i had to listen to the game on AM radio as I ran to the store and Paul Allen one of the Vikings main radio guys was flipping out over the punt return being ruled as out of bounds instead of a TD. He was ticked there weren't more camera's and multiple looks at it. One of the color guys tried to calm him down by saying it isn't a nationally televised game so that's why the camera were a few short. That set Allen off again because he is screaming it is a Nationally televised game. I was laughing at that point because he was acting like it was the SB when it was a game on a high school field that meant nothing

Not even during Super Bowl XL when he spent the whole game asserting that the Seahawks were getting screwed by the refs?

Don't you think as much money as the NFL makes they could throw some money Canton's way before the game to reseed? And then reseed after the game? Same as in Heinz field, We (I) live in this crappy climate grass doesn't grow when it gets cold, Heinz field is a piece of **** playing surface, that hinders players talents. But the players love the grass surface????

The field in Canton is turf and not the new kind of turf.

Heinz field was bad for a few years after they built it due to them not having the right heating and turf type and not having the experience to schedule the re-sodding properly since the field was being used damn near every week and during the High School playoffs.

There have been some complaints and the surveys from 2008 and 2010 rated it as the worst grass surface, but it's still above most artificial surfaces.

Since it was the HOF game as well as a preseason one, I assume they weren't only focusing on the two teams playing. Lots of banter with and about the inductees...

I read all the training camp notes on how guys are doing superb but when they play against other people they look average. For example, Moats couldn't be blocked in camp but haven't heard nothing from him in two preseason games. Either our oline is bad and overrated or Moats is not putting forth the effort as he does in camp. I was hoping for some better pass rush from certain individuals. Moats and Jones to be more specific. Dupree has a lot of work to do and hopefully we don't get any injuries at the OLB position. Chickillo looks better than Dupree at this point. IMO. But it's early and hopefully he will improve throughout the preseason...

I think a lot of that camp pressure has been coming from 4 man fronts, we are not showing that in the games yet . JJ has to be in a 4 or 5 man front to be effective IMO . Dupree looks to be thinking to much and not playing , pretty common for a Rookie . He needs to just clear his head and not worry about mistakes and play football. He has the skill set to do it , I hope that light comes on real soon for him.

I do think Tomlin inserts vanilla game plans in preseason as to not give away anything for the regular season. Though I'm pretty sure Belicheat is recording our practices and won't be surprised.

I emailed that turd Collinsworth through NBC. Told him AV did not WIN a bronze star. You receive them for gallantry. Told him if you could win them I would have a bunch cause I am lucky
