Tua is in shorts throwing the ball around, that isnt the same as getting hit on his hip, he is a big risk along with his penchant for high ankle sprains, bo jackson was going to be like new after hip surgery but it ended his career, tua wont go top 5 in this draft, he is too risky at this point without having any contact on his hip, buyer beware......

Bo was never playing again, he had complete hip replacement. He suffered from AVN, avascular necrosis, the death of bone tissue because of a lack of blood supply. Tua has benefited from two things, they treated the injury fast enough so that AVN didn’t set in and has 28 years of health advancement at his disposal.

That said, I’m not sure I’d take him top 5. Still a serious injury. If the injury scares teams off that he drops all the way to 49, hell yeah I’d roll the dice if I’m the Steelers. He’ll never drop that far though, if he’s still there when NE picks, they’ll take him.

If Tua's injury does see him drop and his hip actually end up holding up, somebody is getting a steal. He is electric. I hope for his sake and ours as spectators that he is fine

Trading our 2nd and next year’s 1st could get us to the lower mid 1st round range this year. If our medical people cleared him (and it’s a BIG if), I’d do that all day. From what I’ve read, he checked out well medically at the combine. I think it’s all moot. I expect him to be gone by pick 15 anyway.

Man that would piss Ben off in a major way :lolol:

I think the hip is going to be ok, from what I have read, it was a fluke injury, just was landed on the right way after his knee planted in the ground and the defenders weight bearing down on him.

If he stays healthy, someone is getting a franchise QB and I’m really hoping it’s not NE. That would suck and you know they’d be lucky enough that the guy would never miss a game in his career :maintete:

They’re probably the “source” of the rumors of him being taken off of some teams’ draft boards.

I agree about coming back from a hip injury being a longshot. I still think he is selected by the 10th pick.

I listened to Dennis Pitta, former Ravens TE, who had 3 hip injuries. Tua's dad contacted him to get information. Pitta said that (as reported elsewhere) MRI's showed that good blood flow was coming to Tua's hip. Pitta also said the reason he had the recurring hip injuries was because he didn't feel that the blood flow there was good, so it weakened the bone. His suspicion was not confirmed by doctors, its just what he thinks. Pitta also said that MRIs showed that the flow was good to his hip so really I got the feeling its a crap shoot. In both player's instance MRIs showed good blood flow, but Pitta had 2 other instances. TE is a position more inherent to contact though so you have to take that into account in some ways.

The ankle surgeries Tua had actually strengthened his ankles by most medical reports. Not sure why he's getting dinged there. The hip would be more of a concern to me. Even if Miami goes Herbert, San Diego will get Tua for sure imo. Let him sit behind Tyrod Taylor for a spell.

I don’t know anything about Throckmorton and Bradley but that would be a damn fine draft.

Yeah, I only know the first 3 guys. After that all I know about them are how PFF and a few other sites rank them. I did watch a bunch of Akers' games early this AM, and he is really growing on me. He's a college RB who actually tries hard in pass protection (imagine that!). You really have to project how well he'll handle RB duties because the blocking in front of him was terrible, but when he did have a crease he made the most of it. Hamilton is a borderline elite run stuffer. He's not going to be able to impact the pass game like Hargrave did, but he would be a very capable day 1 starter at the nose in our base defense (bye bye Big Dan). Delpit was elite in 2018. He took a step back in 2019, but the talent is there big time.

I wait until after the draft to mock it. Otherwise, I would sound as silly as the people that predict who will be drafted by whom:hehehe:

they've also said that quite a few players are on the trading board...odd for a team fresh off a SB appearance.

Hey @Steel_Elvis I gave the fabspeak simulator a go. There's a way to waste some time! I didn't plump for signing up so couldn't trade but had a go...

    1: R2P17 RB J.K. DOBBINS OHIO STATE
    2: R3P38 C CESAR RUIZ MICHIGAN
    3: R4P18 S TERREL BURGESS UTAH
4: R4P29 LB ANFERNEE JENNINGS ALABAMA
5: R6P19 OT TREY ADAMS WASHINGTON
    6: R7P18 S SHYHEIM CARTER ALABAMA

I'm doubtful that Ruiz drops to us in the 3rd for real but I'll take it

Another one from Fanspeak. I traded down twice on the 2nd and then up once on the 3rd, for a net gain of a 4th round pick. I really like this one, and kind of expect nearly everyone listed to be picked earlier than I got them:

    EDGE JULIAN OKWARA NOTRE DAME

    85: R3P21
    RB CAM AKERS FLORIDA STATE
