The window is still open, and i agree its never a given you are going to the superbowl, but we still have a chance this year. The unfortunate thing is the steelers division is playing bad football right now, and they could have easily taken full control of this division without the two let down games. I know one thing it is tough to win on the road in the playoffs (although the steelers have done well on the road) it would be nice to get back on track and try and win the division out right without coming down to a week 16 or 17 match up.

As long as Ben can return after the bye week, everything will be fine.

Heyward and Shazier getting healthy over the next few weeks will get our defense back to the solid state of bend don't break and < 17 points against per game.

We aren't going to miraculously become a team that gets a ton of pressure. So I expect fans will still throw hissy fits over yardage.

I have to admit, after 48 sacks last year, I was expecting more of the same. Whats changed? Can't just be about Dupree being injured.

Butler wanted to just have a four man pass rush to get to the quarterback and play different forms of coverage based defense to prevent the big plays. Whether or not this was to bide Artie Burns and Sean Davis time is truly unbeknownst to me.

Regardless of if it was or was not, the issue is that is out of the four guys getting to the quarterback, two are getting six total hurries and only one of them has recorded sacks.. and that is Cameron Heyward, the guy who is not only the sack leader on the team but the heart and soul of it as well...

.... and he is out, which means that the next best player who many of us (myself included) thought could garner his first pro bowl trip with stellar play has not done that... and that is Stephon Tuitt.

Regarding the EDGE rushers themselves... Anthony Chickillo, Arthur Moats and that is it in terms of production. Jarvis.. is well... what he is and relying on a living legend in James Harrison was supposed to take effect for the final quarter of the season, not the other way around.

Why do I feel like I just had a Pink Panther moment?

    Does your dog bite?

    No

(goes to pet dog, dog bites)

I thought you said your dog doesnt bite?

    That is not my dog.

That was my guess in the beginning of the season. Maybe we'll see them dial up the pressure towards the end of the year.

I thought the same. I just do not know whether it was part of Tomlin's plan to accelerate their learning curves.

Either way though.. not winning one on one matchups is a big part of the reason why; playing fundemental football the same.
