Missed Pass Interference Call

Granted, I can dissect things in stop-action. But even at real-time speed, you can see Talib grab Wheaton's left hand and hold it through the remainder of the play. Talib's left hand comes up onto Wheaton's facemask; he grabs it briefly before sliding his hand off. And Talib never turns his head around -- he is making NO attempt to play the ball.

 

No pass interference here, either.
I guess maybe the official was too far away or looking at something other than the receiver.

 

Great pics, Clive. This confirms what I thought I saw in realtime, clear PI. In all honesty though, I thought the other one on Bryant was even worse. Looked to me that Talib had a hold of Bryant's left arm with the ball in the air.

 

Miller had his right arm held from behind since he made his cut (that is, before my first screen-grab). I know one key the officials look for is the receiver's body turning. You'd think when the throw is behind Miller, his shoulders would turn back that way. But not if (because) Marshall is holding him like that.

 

I should say: I'm NOT whining that the refs were biased or caused the Pittsburgh loss. I AM whining that I want the officials to call things evenly. I don't buy into the "you'll never get that call on the road" crap. Call it objectively, zebras.

 

It could have been called and probably should have been called. Was another play that could have changed the game for sure.

 

To be fair to Simms, who said it was a great play, if you can do and get away with it, it is a great play. Now, had the refs called it, which they should have, then it wouldn't have been a great play.

 

All those (Non) calls came on one drive at a key moment in the game right after you called Gay on one the series before. Makes you wonder huh?

 

The one shot of Godell showed a girl wearing a Broncos hat. I can only assume it was his daughter?

 

Of even crazier misses is the clear block in the back on Allen the play where Manning slid/tripped. How do you miss the clear block in the back as he's trying to touch manning down?

 

I guess but Goodell didnt look happy in that shot

 

Maybe it's just sour grapes, but when I saw the first PI against Wheaton, I told my son it looks like we are going to have to beat the Refs too. At the time I didn't realize that they wouldn't call the PI on Bryant (or on Heath's 3rd and long...Mannings slid.)

We get 1 of those calls and we win the game...how many teams do not get at least one of those??

The Broncos didn't get flagged until 2 minutes left in the 3rd.

The fumble was the final nail...but if the game was called at least 50% correct...Steelers win by 10 points!!

 

The incomplete to Bryant was the one that I thought was pretty blatant.
