Which means he didn't at the combine OR pro day. This is a HUGE red flag to me. I was already not a fan because Mingo only beats guys with his quick first step and speed... but if teams run at him he's completely washed out of the play. He also had a serious lack of production for his athletic ability (and a really good DL to take some focus off of him).

He's way too small and weak to play DE, which is why teams are look at him as a 3-4 OLB... but he obviously KNOWS he's going to be embarrassed if he benches.

I don't think he's the type of player the Steelers would covet, but man I hope they pass if he's there (which I think he will be).

No interest at all in him. Completely overrated IMO. He is a situational pass rusher at best. As you say, if anyone gets a hand on him, he's finished.

What does bench pressing have to do with how good a players is? What does the game tape say?

How many do you think Lambert benched in his day...my guess is not much...

His production & game tape are subpar in my opinion. Yes he is a great athlete, but he did not produce like he should have. Compare him to other SEC pass rushers and I truly believe he does not measure up. Whether he benched or not is irrelevant, he simply isn't a 1st round pick in my opinion. Although I do believe the fact he isn't benching probably tells a story, he just isn't particularly strong.

When there's questions about his strength, and he refuses to do the bench twice, that tells me there's a problem.

And if you read my whole post I didn't say he can't bench, so don't draft him. I said that there's a lack of production as well as not being very strong. His speed and first step are the only reason anyone has him graded as a first rounder.

The bench press for an OLB represents how well they will be able to hold the edge when facing a running play. If has has no strength, he may just get run over.

mingo is strictly only a pass rusher , he has the speed to beat the olineman , is a one trick pony but a really good one , if you need coverage or run defense , is not ready

There's no doubt in my mind that the Steelers will pass on Mingo in the 1st round.

While not the most popular guy on this board...Warren Sapp benched 225 like 10 times...which everyone would have thrown a fit about...and he is a first ballot hall of famer...and you can't deny his game...especially early in his career.

No...I pointed out that bench press numbers are not tell all numbers for players....the same way Suggs ran a slow 40 time...yet is a terror on the field.
