Wilson isn’t the long term answer, but he was the least of our issues last night. Defense was an embarrassment, coaches were scared and our TE couldn’t fight for a first down on 2 first half drives.

Huh? He got like total of 10 yards in the first half of the game , they might as well just punted the ball back to the ravens it was like the offense didn’t exist until we was down 3 score lol and I mean that literally and the numbers actually support that in a literal sense it’s mind blowing ,

Wilson only has the deep ball, that's it... Even the announcers last night said he wasn't going through his progressions, they mentioned this 3-4 times.. they even said his footwork was bad.. He has gotten worse the past 6 games now... But your right the biggest prob was the defense and coaching....

Combined, we spent less than $4.5M for both Wilson and Fields. That’s less than what Andy Dalton makes. When you get QBs from Temu, the pictures look good but the quality is not.

I don’t see things getting better soon. Most likely, we will either roll with one of what we have today or kick the worn out tires with Rodgers or Cousins

    Wilson was

    20/29 270 2 0 121.3

That was not a bad day

He is not our long term answer

    Neither is Fields

I don’t believe either Wilson or Fields are the long term answer.

I also don’t know what else we would have done differently heading into this season. The trio of QBs in Pickett, Rudolph, and Tribusky was brutal.

I am glad we didn’t reach like the Falcons did with Kirk Cousins.

His first half numbers were more indicative of his play. What did he have, 45 yards.

Denver was right. Steelers figured it was worth a shot for such a cheap contract but they threw a dart and missed the board.

A big part of the first half was play calling

And Pickens getting a dumb ass penalty

So if the Steelers threw $60 million at a QB, who do you think they could get? Maybe Kirk Cousins? That would definitely be money well-spent.

The sad reality is there were no decent QBs on the market regardless of what the Steelers were willing to spend. And there’s won’t be this offseason either.

You have to draft and hope you get lucky. Or catch lightning in a bottle like Darnold.

The bottom line is luck has a lot more of a role in finding a great QB than money.

Long term answer isn't on this Roster as @jeh1856@jeh1856 stated. That said, have to choose between one of the two for another season and go from there. Either way is going to make for a long, long season should the team be unable to upgrade the Offensive Firepower.

If anything, just like last season with the Offensive Line, I'd expect both Khan and Weidl to perform an "all out assault" on WRs in ways that the likes of the fan base has not seen before. However, how big will their "assault" be remains to be seen.

This team needs to draft a QB every year from now on until they find the solution, even if it is a lower-round dual-threat development project. You need a QB that can overcome Mike 'Burnside' Tomlin's inept generalship.

Wilson is washed. Fields wasn't good enough to beat Wilson. Neither is the answer. The cupboard is empty and we are starved for functioning offense.

Rodgers is washed, Cousins? But how many old ass QBS is Tomlin /Kahn/Rooney willing to bring in only to find out they aren't the answer?

I agree they need to keep drafting a QB until something sticks , finding a good QB is like finding a diamond in dirt unless u have tons of money to spend for someone established,

Gonna have to roll with Fields. That would be the only possible outcome. Unless the Steelers elect to draft Jalen Milroe (an absolute nightmare scenario if there ever was one) or somebody else, Fields Is likely the best of the worst. Add in Offensive Firepower, cross your fingers and hope for the best.

.... or bottom out and nab "the one" in 2026. Whichever happens first.

Willson had 66 yards the first half, he got his yards in the 2nd half because the Ravens knew the game was over being up 21-0 use your eye test he sucks..

    Stats mean nothing to me

    Forgot to add one sidenote;

Don't be surprised if you hear Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss linked to the Steelers a bit during the Offseason. Just recently got finished getting a second look at him and he is tailored built to operate in a RPO/Play Action heavy offense.

Defense was atrocious. We would have to score every possession. Ravens took their foot off gas pedal first drive of second half. It was embarrassing. Like letting your younger brother win.

Pickens didn't push off no more on that play than he did when he caught the ball split the defenders and scored a TD.... only diff was the D back flopped and drew a flag

I think it’s 95% likely that Fields is a bridge at best. I guess if he’s affordable he could be a temporary starter, but he likely won’t be any better than Mitch, KFP or Russ.

Actually the first one was much more blatant and most certainly caused distance between him and the DB the second not so much

It was a penalty he got called for it and what would have been a long reception ultimately required punting

That is no difference than a turn over

I don’t want to come across as a Wilson apologist bc I’m not. But we had 3 successive failed first half possessions which prevented them from getting into more of a rhythm. They had a 3rd and 7 completion to Muth who was pushed OB short of the first down. Next possession completed 3rd and 2, Muth again came up short and we punted. Next possession long completion to GP, but he was called for OPI. I’m not putting the blame on Wilson for any of those shortcomings
