It sure wasn't me. I was actually telling my wife the other day that Mike Wallace and Rashard Mendenhall were among my two most despised Steelers but Mike Mitchell is doing all he can to surpass them. David Johnson deserves an honorable mention as well. Going further back it is Plax.

Yeah, if I was gonna go farther back he would be the next guy on my list. What's funny is when I was a kid I used to defend him like crazy. Now I'm older and I realize I have no leg to stand on. LOL. When people try and question just how much of a fan I am I just say "Dude I used to like Neil O'Donnell." LOL.

Because of the SB or other reasons? Because he was actually a good QB for us, just not in the most important game of the year.

Yep. The Super Bowl. I used to tell people that he wasn't as bad as people make him out to be. However, he did go on to do nothing for the pretty much the rest of his career so he definitely wasn't worth as much as he thought he was. Didn't he actually have a one win season with the Jets?

Bring Wallace back? Absolutely not. I was ecstatic when I found out he was gone. No way I'd want him back in Black and Gold.

He was a decent quarterback but when he wasn't throwing interceptions in the Super Bowl, he was plotting and scheming about how he could get out of Pittsburgh. He signed an offer sheet with the Bucs, which the Steelers matched, and then of course left for the Jets for $25 mil after the Steelers offered a paltry $20 mil. The reason I call him Neil O'Dummy is because had he stayed in Pittsburgh I really believe he would have had a shot at another Super Bowl run or two. Cowher was building something and regularly visited the post season even with Kordell at QB. If not for O'Dummy's obsession with getting out of the Steel City, we all might have a different opinion of the guy. As it is, I actually loathe him. He ranks right up there with Diva Wallace in my book!

That was in the beginning of the FA era and the Steelers let a lot of people walk. It's amazing the contract they were gonna give him is even less than the contract we give to some low level guy like Marcus Gilbert. As a matter of fact, wasn't Ben the first Steeler to ever crack the $100mil mark? I think he might be the ONLY Steeler to ever do that.

He'd be a great weapon that would open up our offense even more than it already is. If we could sign him for really cheap, and then work him into a rotation as the #2 receiver, that'd be perfect. :lol:We can't afford the amount of money it would take to make him happy, and worse than that, we can't afford the playing time it would take to make him happy. The worst thing about him is that when he's unhappy, he has to make it everyone else's problem. This is a guy who throws fits when he has to share the spotlight as the #1. Imagine him relegated to some kind of #3 role. And not even getting paid "good" money for it.

As soon as all of those problems go away, I'll consider it.

You think? And then he leaves in the offseason? Mentioning his name caused many fights and Steeler fan's blood pressure to rise for many years. Mine still does.:rant::frustrated::mad::mad:

"Pittsburgh limited the Cowboys' powerful running game to only 56 yards and enjoyed a whopping 201-61 advantage in total yards in the second half, but could not overcome the three interceptions (another came on the game's final play) thrown by O'Donnell, the NFL's career leader for fewest interceptions per pass attempt."

Like I said....We all get one wrong now and than.

My son was one of those end of the world people when we extended Brown and didnt resign Wallace.

Son:"Dad why would we give Brown all that money for all those years and let Wallace walk?"

Dad:"Because Brown is the better receiver."

Son two seasons later "You were right Dad."

Wallace would do better in Miami if the Dolphins O line gave their QB time to throw deep which rarely happens.
