When he does something positive I will. There hasn't been much on field stuff this season to do so about. Up till now he's handed the ball off a lot and made a few decent throws. Nothing crazy good or bad. Sheesh... I think everyone should stop giving him a squeezer.

This is what I'm talking about. People can't understand that I separate the person from the player and I call them into question when they call me out for it.

Is it just me, or does this kind of feel like Javon Walker-Packers back in '05? Hopefully things work out better for Mike.

Seriously though, I know I really wanted Wallace to be here all of camp but I can somewhat understand his reasoning. He'll be back on the team soon and I believe he will have a very big season. He'll get paid by someone else after the season, hopefully after he helps us win another Lombardi!

I know I should just let this slide because you aren't going to see what numerous people in this thread see but I'm calling :bs:

There were several feel good stories about Ben that were posted on here during the offseason and only crickets could be heard from his detractors. One of them you even pooh pooed when you said something to the effect that it was nausetaing seeing everyone kiss Bens ass for such mundane things. I'm paraphrasing of course.

Unless it's his good play on the field, I don't think you are capable of saying a good word about Ben.

WOW, all of a sudden, I feel like I’m back on the old board! It always seems to get chippy during camp, lol. :lolol:

Ive been reading these forums since they opened. I used to read the forums when it was on the steeler's website. I just never took the time to sign up for this one and the one on the steelers site; yeah right good luck.

Anyway, thanks, i know all posts get hijacked to an argument its cool.

PS: just because we have an expensive masturbation machine doesn't mean we always have to have our dick out....

Oh jeez, seems you are back to your old tricks on this matter. Making a mountain out of a mole hill. I remember one subject that you took issue with a comment from me about. But, it would be a serious stretch to call it Nauseating and I don't believe I would call fans out for any praise on the subject I am referring too.

Paraphrasing means you are trying to stick to context with a degree of accuracy. Other than Ben's early Haley comments or DeCastro's struggle info, I haven't really commented about him directly about any other thing that (again) was "nauseating" by any stretch.

I'd have to see even the subject matter you are floating out there that I was so gross about. Until then stop trying to forward another ridiculous misrepresentation. Just because you say it's so doesn't make it so. Remember that!

So what anyway... I have learned to not like the guy, but I appreciate his toughness and gamesmanship. Why is it so important to you to always try and make such a big deal and call me out at the drop of a hat? It's not like there is ZERO foundation for it. How many discussions, articles and arguments have there been over the years on issues regarding him? I'm not making this stuff up out of nowhere. I just disagree with you. Grow up and get over it... :-D

And what is it again that people see that I don't? :hmmm:

Actually, you came into that particular thread with a juvenile comment and someone called you on it and then you proceeded to say it was "nauseating", that part wasn't paraphrased, that's the word you used. The fact is OS, you'll never give the guy credit for anything he does off the field. I don't really care, I'm just calling a spade a spade when you say you will give him credit when he does something positive. And that is what you don't see that everyone else see's.

And before you tell people to grow up, look in the mirror and see your response to TTF that started this whole mess, talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. Must be that time of the month for you because you are flying off the handle at everyone tonight.

Well,I don't think I was high when I made my post on Wallace...LOL....But there is some proof that guys have had sub par years recently as RFA'S and other Teams have still gave them big contracts......So my point is still Very Valid even if it is not popular......We are still right where we have always been, how much will the Steelers pay him?How much does Wallace want? And how much would another Team pay him even with a down year?

I don't think the Steelers will pay him more than Brown even if he has a great year....Brown has done all the right things and it would be bad to give Wallace more than Brown IMO....#2 Can the Team afford to tie that much money up at the WR spot?

As to how much that Wallace wants we know it is more than 55 Mil and rumors of the 100 Mil type a deal....As stated we will not go over the 55 Mil so unless Wallace has changed his mind then this will be his last season...Now if Wallace knows he will not except our best offer and he believes he can get a better one elsewhere even with a down year then he has no incintive to risk Injury for 2.5 Mil....

Plus by missing OTA'S and Camp along with a new OC he has a perfect sell for having a bad year, and Teams will buy it and still pay him more than the Steelers will...When he started talking about wanting to go here and there esp. to a place with only half a QB ,but they had the money the righting was on the wall....

There will be other receivers that have break-out type years this year that will get heads turning. It is a what are you doing right now type of league.

Glad you knew I was joking with you ;) I was referring to the part about Wallace not going all out, I don't buy into that. I think he plays his guts out trying to garner the best contract he can. When you start worrying about injuries thats when you get hurt. This probably is his last year here unless he softens his stance and signs for 50 mil, if there ever was an offer for that.

My reference was regarding contract disputes and holding out from camp.

Sorry I was the one that started oldschool on this long rant lol

I simply posted that I dont care for players that have character issues . I cannot seperate the value of a player and issues which crop up like what we are watching happen with Wallace. Their value to the organization and team for me goes way down.

Ugh.... Re-read the flow. First off, I didn't come in with a a juvenile comment. My original post asked an honest question. 2nd, it was a misunderstanding all around. TTF thought I was being sarcastic and I intern misunderstood him and I thought TTF was calling me on some BS so I accused him of what of something that we both admit we think the other does (not separate Ben's personal life from his field life). We agree to disagree on that matter. Moving along. I didn't fly off the handle, I just didn't let bleedsteel comment on tolerance and get away with it or let numbah act like Terrell Owens about his QB and tell me I should do something when I don't feel the need to. As far as Snacks question all I did was answer it, no aggression. And with you and this tiresome volley over poor old Ben, again, I am just answering your questions. I defy you to go and read any of my responses (except the 1st one to TTF) with a normal calm and mild mannered tone and tell me if it reads as if I am flying off the handle. As TTF,myself and gazillions of peole have stated, tone is misinterpreted all the time on the internet. I don't know what you mean by OS..?

My bad. I misread where you were talking about a different post and thought you meant this one. But it still holds that if my posts in THIS thread were read with a conversational tone they might be understood in a different way.

I still don't know what thread or subject matter you are referring to though.

    Good grief

Why would he need to stay at Ike Taylor's house, can the man not afford his own place? Maybe that's why he wants more money.

Mike Wallace has been working with a trainer that Ike Taylor swears by. I would imagine that trainer is only in the New Orleans (?) area, so Ike probably offered his home to make the stay convenient for Mike.

I just thought of this... stupid I know... but "Mike and Ike" Lol

From what I have heard, it appears Mike Wallace has been training hard, during the off-season.

Has anyone considered that Mike Wallace came to the following conclusion? "I believe I deserve more than the Steelers and the NFL are offering. Since they are not offering what I want I am going to exercise the options before me to get raise my 'value.' I will train hard so I can prove myself, again, this season."

I understand the "holdout" bit doesn't jive with the Steelers organization. However, I see a guy who's in one hell of a predicament. If he signs a long-term deal for less than what he wants, then he sacrifices a lot. Especially knowing what he brings to the Steelers organization. The man is just trying to get what he feels he's worth. And playing that game is a gamble no matter your profession. Hey may not have handled this in the best way, but I'm trying to look at this from another angle.

It's funny how when organizations make the hard-nosed calls to their benefit it's okay and "good business". When a player does it, then they are selfish. Lol!
