You're STARTING to question it??? :roflmao:

You're right, I was thinking of Jarvis Moss. He drops too many passes. No wait! I was thinking of Randy Quaid. But I've never seen Randy Moss drop one he should have caught.

...But these guys have! Gonna have to combine links here to make it all make sense since I couldn't find one good one on my first google.

This one is an article written by some guy in New England. He claims that Moss's drop rate over the past three seasons ('08, '09, '10) is 12.32%. I'm sorry, that does include 2010, but it also includes two "real" years. I think that's fair.

This one is from profootballfocus.com, and has the drop rates for 91 receivers who qualify from 2011. Moss didn't play in 2011, but I think we can still compare.

Wallace is tied for 11th out of 91 with 5.26%. If Moss were on this list, it looks like he'd be somewhere in the 60s. But that's only three years out of many more, and I only used one year for Wallace (although it was the year people started complaining about his drops!). Not a perfect comparison, but if you can find his drop rate for his career, be my guest.

Thanks guys for the links and info. I found it quite interesting and to be some good reading. Randy Moss' last year was so bad it really pulled down his two years previous to that. I'd still put Randy's 1st ten years up against any WR's 1st ten. That's a solid body of work. I'm not saying he's the best ever but he's in the conversation and that means something.

Back to Wallace. I still stand by what I said that Wallace's 1st few years in the NFL doesn't equal Moss' or comes close. I do Like Wallace and think he's a special WR. I'm saying I don't believe someone will give up a #1 draft pick for him. I was thinking his speed, which is great and special, ( 4.28 40 yd @ combine ) was being overrated.

I found in bleacher report a WR ranking system and it put Wallace @ # 5 in the 10'-11' season. Wallace had 60 rec for 1257 yds,10 TDs and 48 1st downs. He had 6 drops ( 9% of catchable balls dropped ) . What really shocked me was his after the catch yds. It was only 364 yds. With a 21yd per catch avg he only avg 6yd per rec after the catch. There could be 10 reasons for this and we've all seen many games where Wallace was wide open and had to stop/slow down for the ball from Ben.

What could Wallace do if he had a QB to hit him in stride more often. Could his #'s be Greater in an Offense with a better deep ball QB.

I'm now starting to feel Wallace IS worth that 1st rd draft pick and if NE don't go after him they're idiots. They have many FAs they need to sign and have Tagged Welker. Hopefully they miss out on this opportunity. One thing Hurting Wallace is he's been known to disappear late in the season and Playoff games. Browns emergence and him getting some of Wallace's plays might have been a blessing in disquise(?) . A 5yr 25-30 mil contract with 15mil gauranteed seems doable and appropriote. It'll leave room for Cotchery and for Brown to be signed next year when the Cap goes up.
