He said "hasn't had it" vs "doesn't need it". Also said he's confident he'll return this season.

I'll guarantee you that if vick played the whole game and we lost, tomlin would have said we didnt lose because of vick, ive seen coaches call out players for their poor play before, and coaches do that to motivate them to play better, jay gruden didnt mince words on how poorly rg 3 played not just once but several times, coaches throw their whole team under the bus after a poor performance, vick needs to be called out for his poor play instead of being coddled, tomlin thinks we as fans are stupid and cant see what a loser vick is, which doesnt reflect well on the coach who signed him.........

Players play the way they are Coached . Vick was asked to play extra careful the play calling showed that . Vick was Coached to use his legs and let the Defense keep us in the game. Vick was also turned loose late in games if needed and when that happened he played better.

I am not saying Vick looked good as a NFL QB , he did look like a good game manager to me . To me the bottom line is Vick has cost his Teams a many of a game with poor choices and forced balls and careless ball handling. The bottom line is as a Steeler that did not happen . Coach T got the best that he could out of a guy whose skills are in the rear view mirror . That's Team ball in it's finest and those results are showing in the Win/Loss column......

I agree with PWP. Vick was coached with a tight leash. No pun intended. He was trying to be careful with the ball, but most times it was TOO careful. As soon as Landry came in the difference between his and Vicks confidence in throwing was astounding.

Point is: Vick did not lose us 1 game. Mostly because Tomlin didn't let him try to win either. That was Bells job. (Please do not bring up the Ravens game because that's something I'll never understand from Tomlin)

    p.s.
He looked terrible against the Cardinals. No confidence, errant throws, and growing frustration. Oh and my money says Ben plays this week.

    Go Steelers!

Yeah, that's working out really well for Gruden. He basically ruined RG3, which is ridiculous because that organization invested so much (draft pick wise) in that kid. There is always constant talk about whether or not he's lost the locker room. He might not be a head coach for very much longer.

Vick wasn't being coddled. He's a pro, and a grown man. He doesn't need public shaming to know that he played bad. You do that to people who think they are above criticism when they are playing bad. Vick doesn't sound like he is like that. He knows he played bad and I'm sure he felt bad about it. He did the best he could, he just doesn't have it anymore. Ripping him would've been ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

And Tomlin doesn't think that the fans are stupid. He knows we are haha he's forgotten more about football than I know (I don't want to speak for anyone, but that's probably true for all of us).

I think we have a really good locker room, and a lot of leaders within the room. If anyone needs to have a point proven to them, we do it in house. Whether it's Tomlin, Deebo, Ben, or whoever, they can get a point across without getting the media involved. That can get ugly. I much prefer it the way we do it.

She is free to think what ever she thinks about Tomlin. I think he does dumb stuff at times too. I do not see any racist anything in her post.

I just wish she would express how she really feels instead of bottling it all up like that.

Dude I am sick and tired of people being called "racist" for criticizing Tomlin. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in what she said that was racist. Everything she said was strictly football. People like you are everything that is wrong with society today. You can't frame your own argument against her and therefore you just say "RACIST! RACIST! RACIST!" Why don't you use your incredible wisdom that apparently you would like for all of us to believe that you have and explain to us how it WAS a better decision to keep Vick in instead of Landry??? Why don't you also use it to show us how what she said was racist? Did she mention skin color? Did she mention racial stereotypes? Did she say the "n word"? No. She didn't. There was a president of the United States named Abraham Lincoln. He once said "It is better to remain silent and be assumed a fool than to speak and remove all doubt." You should really look in to him...

Now I'm not accusing her of racism but I think this first bit of her post "Every single time I see his press conference, I hate his face even more." is hardly "strictly football" as you state. I think maybe she could explain that and also why if Tomlin won 2 more Superbowls she still wouldn't like him? From a "strictly football" standpoint, that seems illogical.

Yeah, I also kind of read it like that (because of that Tomlin interview the other year).

    Who knows, eh?

Probably best to just move on.

To an extent. Vick looked happiest when he was allowed to play "his" game. The problem was, that wasn't the game the offense is set up for, and severely limited the play-calling.

On the other hand, an NFL QB needs to be way more accurate on short passing than he was. Also, on just about every pass play the same thing happened - Vick would see a guy open, then take time to think about it, set his feet, wind up, throw the ball... by which time, the open receiver wasn't open anymore. Or even on the field.

It's interesting that the main issue with LJ before last week was the 'deer in the headlights' thing - that the pace of the game was too much for him. It seemed to be the same for Vick, though; not helped by an unfamiliar offense, and a clear lack of chemistry with his receivers. The only real reason to have him on the field was that he could do a fair bit with his running. But then, Bell and Williams are still better bets there.

Sometimes fans use what is called "hyperbole" to stress how strongly they feel about something. Sometimes fans don't like coaches at all. I will give you an example. I don't like BA. We won a Super Bowl while he was here. He went to Indy and they went to the playoffs and he went to AZ and they did too. He is a two time coach of the year. Yet I STILL don't like the guy and I don't see a scenario where I ever will. I guess I must be a "racist" then??? You could make the case that something is "illogical" certainly. However you can NOT make the case that because something is "illogical" it is "racist". If white fans that don't like Tomlin, and never will, are racist then what were the black fans who never liked Cowher?:icon e wink::rolleyes: You see how that works?

I considered that but really calling someone racist is like calling someone fat or ugly. There's just never a good reason to do it. I agree with you that if it was a joke it was a bad one.

sometimes, a lot more than we humans should at this stage in our journey, absolutely have good reason to call out a racist and I would also go as far as saying an ugly racist and if that ugly racist person is fat I would call them a fat ugly racist.

Oh I agree totally if they actually ARE a racist. What I was saying is it is wrong to call someone that when what they say clearly has nothing to do with race.

I'm disappointed in myself for calling someone fat.
I was at the farmers market Saturday and I left about 80 dollars of merchandise I was fixing to purchase when the guy behind the table let me know he was a racist. Really wanted to bash him one. It still exist although some would like us to believe it doesn't.

some credit Mark Twain for saying your abe Lincoln quote too so

Yes but the context of my comment was in response to someone saying that you shouldn't joke about it and I was agreeing with saying you shouldn't jokingly call someone that. Context woman! CONNNNNNNNNTEXXXXXT!!!!!!! LOL!!! Also I love his pressers too. They are always very enlightening. Once during a presser he said the word "obviously" a lot and I was like "well it if is so obvious then why even say it"? I also heard him talk about the standard being the standard. That is good to know. Obviously.
