All the love for Shanahan and SF had 3 points vs Seattle with a chance for the #1 seed AT HOME.

I wonder how fans feel about that “offensive” offensive performance last night.

I think this smoke is posturing by Tomlin's camp that he has options so Rooney best exercise the team option and not make Mike a lame duck for next year.

I very much expect Tomlin to finish out his contract and for Rooneys to let him, even know I would love to go into the draft with it being in Pittsburgh with a new regime in place.

We could go into next season knowing that it is his last year. The lame duck thing doesnt concern me. It becomes neutralized when the HC wants to move on. Tomlin would give it his all to go out on a high note.

Or Rooney will extend him another 3 years :maintete:

I got problems with Tomlin, but props to him to reconfigure the defense after the Bengals drubbing.

Moving Ramsey to safety saved the season.

Ramsey played his worst game though for the finale. Hopefully it is a one off. That said, he did come back from being injured earlier in the game so there is that to consider as well.

He was playing just fine for much of the game.

The goal (i think tomlin's goal) with AR’s signing was a playoff run. Now it starts.

When a player answers a question like this in regards to Tomlin, his seat will be hot.

    Harbaugh is probably gone.

If Ramsey plays like this against Houston, the Steelers are cooked.

That's a BS response from Jackson. You have to do better than that even if you don't mean it.

Harbaugh reconfigured the entire roster to build around Jackson's strengths and supports him and defends him every single time they come up short, and this is what Harbaugh gets for that?

    Stay classy Lamar...

The NFL missed a real opportunity last night by not having the losing owner fire their coach right on the 50-yard line.

Not only did this win give Tomlin security, it probably gets him an extension should be want. If the Steelers win on Monday, it definitely will. It's wild how one or two games change everything

Reminiscent of when McVay couldn't score against the Pats in the SB?

Rooney is almost certainly going to exercise the option. Probably would have even if we lost IMO.

Especially if it's an elite / franchise player (which we maybe don't even have right now).

I think a non-answer is the best thing here. This is basically always the case for athletes when they are asked a question IMO.

That way he can come in and say that he's confident in the direction of the team no matter what his boss's boss decides to do at the HC position.

Ramsey is old(er) and slow(er) than he used to be. Not surprising it happens to all athletes. Unfortunately, his brain and muscle memory have yet to appropriately rewire themselves. He still plays like he is 25. Ramsey used to be able to cheat and play the short flat version of the route, and then sprint and catch up when the ball was in the air. He used to be able to bait QBs into throwing the ball and then close to make a play. He can no longer do that, but an entire career of muscle memory still thinks he can.

Ramsey has to work to overcome that instinct. It is likely gonna be a struggle.
