Do we really know if that has been a Rooney decision or has it been Colbert? Usually those decisions fall under the GM’s purvey. Colbert and Tomlin were thick as thieves. Maybe Khan won’t be so forgiving.

Other times when he's spoke of in-season change it resulted in adding new coaches to the staff, while not subtracting the existing ones.
I'm expecting something like that once again.
He'll probably announce that Canada is getting an assistant, or some such bullsh!t. Our offensive coordinator needs an offensive coordinator.

So far I'm not sold on Khan, he brought in all these free agents ( meh). He supposedly drafted well but none of the rookies can't get on the field more than a few snaps a game...time will tell but so far I'm not impressed

Yeah, can't really judge the draft picks at all yet. 4 games isn't a sample size worth determining over.

As for the free agents, Holcomb has been good. Peterson mixed bag, but we knew he was over the hill, Roberts and Alexander are rotational players and have been ok, Seumalo has disappointed so far but the line's struggles aren't solely on him, Sullivan is a rotational player but hasn't been great. It's 4 games. Can't judge yet.

One can hope. I’m done with this whole staff and especially done with the bargain basement coordinators.

    Is that coaching or Khan?

I think he and Weidl have been great and hope they shake things up.

Regarding it being a Rooney decision, remember back in 2021 after Day One of the NFL Draft, Tomlin told the media that AR 2 is the boss. Mind you, this may have been just the draft but it has to go deeper than that. At this point, might as well be more than speculation.

AR II is the one writing the checks. Granted, he isn't the one making the decisions solely (that we are aware of). However, if AR II permits Tomlin to have full autonomy of change, Tomlin should be given permission to either fire Canada or have Sullivan take over while having Canada act as an OC in name only.

Regardless, me and you are within the same level of a boiling point!!

    This S#!% SHOW?!?!

Maybe a lil of both? Weidl came highly recommend, but Kahn was interviewed 3-4? times for Gm over the past years by other teams and was never hired....Is this another example of Rooney being cheap ?

I doubt Khan has more power than Tomlin.

I'm so tired of seeing the Steelers hire people who were already on the staff in the last 10 years or so for the OC or DC like Keith Butler, Austin,Fitchner, Canada...At some point, we need to have very fresh new ideas but with the Steelers, they have too much of their old mentality despite their lack of playoff wins since 2011

As they say "No balls no blue chips!!" or as the great Henry Fonda said In Harms Way "Indecision is a virus that will run through an army and destroy its will to fight or even to survive". Get your arse in gear Rooney!!!

Yes, I made a comment earlier in 2023 (this is the new standard or some post like that) about not remembering the last time the Steelers blew anyone out. I think ONE blowout in the past 5 years (early game against the hapless Browns three or four years ago).

I remember a few losing seasons under Cowher, but I also remember quite a few blowouts along the way, usually a couple every season. They didn't let the foot off the gas when they were on. When the Steelers get a lead, I have no confidence they'll keep it over the past 6 years. The entire 90s and most of the 00s, I felt very confident they'd keep a big lead and add to it.

The non-losing record streak is the worst thing to happen to this organization as it pertains to future momentum. As another said on here, the standard is now mediocrity, .500 ball, and soon, that will be lofty goals IF their is not a entire coaching staff house-cleaning before the 2024 draft.

I am already sold on Khan. Rookies might not be playing, but that is due to the coaches, not the players. The draft was considered a massive win and still is. The FA group, well, unless you pay out $100 million in guarantees, you're not getting a star or pro-bowler. I think the FA group is solid, but certainly not good so far. There is more than enough talent on this team to be a winning team that is tough to beat.

Unfortunately, like the past 6 years or so, we have a bottom 5 coaching staff. We've had a bottom 5 head coach for 10+ years now. Until the HC is gone OR stripped of ANY input into OC/DC and assistant hiring, we won't see another playoff win for a long, long time.

We're the team, and have been the team for 6+ years, that EVERY other team WANTS to play late in season or playoffs. Really good coaches don't even have to put in much work against us. They can start planning for the game AFTER ours.

I am at work just checking in knowing that there would be breaking news on here, how is Canada not fired yet.
Tomlin you better prey it's the Rooney's making you keep him, or you will go down with him when fans start embarrassing the team and walking out at halftime.
