While it’s the butt of many jokes and criticisms, you have to give credit to the man for never having a losing season.

Looking at recent years. In 2019, the team finished 8-8 with a QB name Duck starting half the season. In 2022, finished 9-8 with a rookie QB, a revamped OL and the reigning Defensive MVP missing 7 games.

Yet both years, we were still playing for a playoff spot going into the last week of the season

The team with duck and Rudolph finished 8-6. Ben was 0-2.

"The standard is the standard".... the standard use to be Super Bowls, now we celebrate winning seasons year after year.

I will beat the dead horse once again, 3 playoff wins in 12 years. Im holding out hope that changes this year and once again hoping that we are celebrating post season wins.

I could care less about winning seasons and mediocrity. Playoff wins, AFC Championships and Super Bowls are all I care about.

If it is for who is the Best Coach in the league this year, I would have moved #5 Sirianni, and #6 Shanahan to the top of the list.

But, if it is just best active head coaches then the top 3 look correct. All 3 are going to be Hall of Famers.

Tomlin is completely overrated when it comes to game day planning, opponent preparation and X's and O's in game strategy. His choices for coordinators is questionable at best.

Where he does gain points is that his players really seem to like him and do play well under his leadership. Over the long haul he has proven to be a non losing season 16 year NFL coach that will be widely considered for the HOF. Another SB appearance obviously solidifies that and a win ensures it to be first ballot worthy, especially considering it would be with two completely different eras.

Fact is he aint going anywhere and if he were to be fired he would be hired instantaneously by another NFL team. I can not name many other coaches that we could find right now worthy of replacing him.

I'm not a big fan nor am I a huge hater.

If TOMLIN is the third best coach in the NFL the rest of these guys must be downright laughable and pathetic.

There’s conveniently a list right here in this thread. Who else from that list do you rank ahead of him? I wouldn’t put him as high as #3, but it’s hard to find 10 who are better when you actually look at their track records. It’s even harder to come up with guys who aren’t on that list (I.e. are available) who would be better.

I met a homeless bridge person named Tim a few weeks ago. I would take him. Tomlin has won 3 playoff games in 12 years all while having a HOF QB for most of that time. I just can’t even fathom how people are still defending/ praising this man.

There's at least 5 coaches on that list that I would rank higher than Tomlin.

Great QB's make for great Coaches.

Actually shocked Tomlin is #3. When you had Ben and 9-10 Pro Bowlers and get beat at home in a Playoff game and beat soundly that is on the Coach not having them prepared. We were the better team.

I believe Brady and Mahomes have 9 SB's between them. Obviously know way to know but I'm thinking if they had had Mike Tomlin as HC maybe 2 or 3.

IMO, Tomlin's success is now on the shoulders of Kenneth Pickett. Should the Steelers crap the bed, which I don't believe will happen it will be time for the organization to take a long hard look at our system.

Every coach that has won a Super Bowl or has been to a Super Bowl since since 2010 should be ahead of Tomlin, or at the least from 2017 on. Football is about coaching, and more importantly, assistant coaching. Tomlin is great at the culture stuff, but Xs and Os isn't his greatest strength. I am surprised that he doesn't realize the value of great assistants; but maybe Rooney II restricts the budget on coaching expenses. I will give Tomlin credit he has worked well with Khan and Weidl and seems very enthusiastic for the season. I am excited to see how the Steelers play this year, but like Joey Porter Jr., Pickett has a lot to prove this year.

I don't think we can blame Tomlin for the lack of playoffs win since 2019 since the steelers roster was below average

He is a very good coach (I don't think he is top 3 though) but what happened in 2009 and 2018 was bad. Same thing for our loss in the playoffs in 2011 and 2017. It was awful

Tomlin should be ranked around 8th-12th range on that list. A lot mistakes were made since SBXLV. Steelers should have switched to a 4-3 in 2011... it's a better defense to defend Brady and Rodgers, QBs that gave the 3-4 Steelers fits. Also some major 1st round draft whiffs and reaches. Jones, Burns, Edmunds and Bush. Too much emphasis on offense during the Killer B run and not enough attention given to replenishing the D after Polamalu, Farrior, Hampton, etc... retired.

As much as I can't stand the guy..... Harbaugh is better than 11th.

Daboll at #8 is a joke. Carroll and Pederson should be ranked higher than Sirianni.

Andy Reid was close to have a HOF resume even without Mahomes. Not the case for Belichick without Brady

Outside of the 70s dynasty when was the standard super bowls?

This tired narrative needs to be done with.
