No he said meaningless tds. So by that observation.....any td you score in a loss is meaningless. LoL. That's pretty funny.

And some of the bean brains here suggested they were starting Wilson just to save on the draft pick

We were close later in that game. I still remember running Bell wide on 4th and 1 vs. that fast Jacksonville defense on a possession that I think could have tied it (if I’m remembering correctly). What I clearly remember was that being a turning point. I was so pissed at that play call.

They were within seven for more than six minutes.

They were within seven for nearly a full quarter, so no, that isn't true.

Exactly, and that was inside the Jacksonville 40.

you are correct - it was closer to 12 minutes, I had read the box score incorrectly.

we had 2 possessions, they had 2 - when we were down only 7. a few punts and then it says 'downs' - was that a 4th down we did not convert?

then.....that was it. Jax scored, down 14.

in the 3rd, we sputtered, sucked - ran out of steam - whatever. JAX D stiffened - they played the usual 'prevent' when they were up 28 points. Why not? Most teams do. that is why I called it 'garbage TD's' earlier. When the game got tight, THEY got tight and we could not move the ball.

Yes, they turned it over on downs once. As @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis wrote, they ran Bell wide on third-and-one, which was dumb. Then they threw deep on fourth-and-one, which was even dumber.

That said, they had a third-and-one inside the Jacksonville 40 down only seven points, so no, they were not out of the game.

Not one of Haley's better calls trying to run wide against a fast defense .

Oh… my memory is a bit off. I was recalling both the Bell run and the deeper throw as separate 4th and 1’s.

Only for the TD-INT ratio....He has way more yards per pass attempts right now...6.8 last year vs 8.4 this year. This is massive

Different between a HC that wants him, and one that doesn't.
Also YPA mainly goes by what type of offense You are running....not how good You are. Example: Purdy I leading the league in YPA.....while Burrow, and J. Allen way below him.

True but he was not a good fit in a Sean Payton offense who is a lot of dink and dunk, quick pass, etc. Not the style of Wilson...The TD-INT ratio don't always tell the whole story....Like the one of Aaron Rodgers this year is decent(22 TD,9 INT)but he is complete garbage and the jets are 3-10

That's always been Rodgers problem. You can find it on here where I've said for years that Rodgers never won more than He did in the Post season because He cared more about not throwing ints than taking a risk.....,,but 90% of the time a good td to int% shows good Qb play....., but there are always outliers to anything.

Like Mike said, stats without context. Up 21 zip, teams take their foot off the gas. Steelers close the gap, Jags say oh they are still trying to win, thats cute, score a TD widen the gap back to 14 which it was pretty much the entire game.

Yeah I agree on this with Rodgers and I am happy you said this....Like in 2018 he had only 2 interceptions in the entire season but the packers were 6-9-1....Sometimes you have to play to win!

This is a reason why I am not always a fan of the TD-INT ratio,it don't always tell the whole story, like sometimes this is the RB who has so many rushing TD in the red zone and sometimes the QB throw so many time inside the 2
