If the Steelers were healthy no AB, Bell, or DeAngelo in this game, they probably win the Super Bowl that season.

If I were stacking a team, I would prioritize size and power on the interior of the DL with Edges who get paid to provide the heat. But that said in any philosophy of team building it is important to be able to see special talents when they are on the board. And if you can't do that, then you need to focus your attention on your scouting and evaluation people.

And this stuff is hard to discuss because we don't know who jumped on the table for him. Or who was the force behind disregarding him and thinking he needed to move to another position. But I watched a lot of Pitt back then and I knew Donald was going to wreck the NFL. I remember telling a bud of mine at the bar that he was going to be better than Randle. So I had zero doubts about him, and it surprised me how many NFL teams overanalyzed that one.

Bottom line here is the GM and scouts are pros. They're supposed to be special at evaluating and finding talent. So when they disregard a home town Hall of Famer like that, as an owner I would be downright livid. He should have been in black and gold.
