Mike Tomlin is stepping down from the Steelers

I have heard of one Chris Shula name brandied about. He is Don's grandson and is DC for the Rams. I think Tomlin could be good in the booth, as long as he uses word salad to be informative and funny and not be like Dan Dierdof.

 

Absolutely stunned. This is good. This is could get realllyy painful for a few years but it's very necessary.

 

Yeah, this is a bit of a shocking off-season for the North. It'll be interesting to see who the Steelers come up with to replace Tomlin. If they keep in line with tradition, it's not going to be an experienced NFL head coach.

We need a smart, aggressive young guy who's interested in hiring smart coordinators and encouraging them to do what they do.

 

If they're smart, they'll hire Curt Cignetti.

 

Won't happen overnight and we have to get a legit long term YOUNG Qb.

Thinking 1-2 down years.

Mike saw the future and went out with his winning season record.

 

Not sure about Shula...I could be wrong too but the rams defense have been bad in the last month or so

The field of candidates for HC isn't as strong as it was last year, it will be interesting to see if they hire an offensive or defensive guy.

Yes sir. They were losing their fans. Had to happen. MT is a great guy and very good coach. All the best to him, he has a great future but this had to happen. He should be held in high regard in Pittsburgh.

 

He would be the only assistant they should even consider keeping. Both coordinators need to go.

Just get a guy who's committed to hiring exceptional coordinators and relying on them.

 

He's 64 years old and just signed a contract extension with Indiana.

 

Rodgers probably follows his buddy out the door.

I personally, thought that he would go one more season, to dominate the north. But, I guess, he ran out of excuses.

He's a competitive guy. Losing 7 straight playoff games, in the manner they lost them, had to hurt. It was time and he did the right thing. I have to give him some kudos for that.

Could not care less if Heyward, Watt, Rodgers, Ramsey go out the door with Tomlin.

 

He’s responsible for every defensive record broken and not the good ones.
