I wouldn’t be against it. Tomlin and Munchak discussed it a season or two back. Maybe it will happen.

They are the 2nd smallest staff in the league and bring in unknowns who have had spotty careers (Canada) or have been previously let go from other clubs (Austin). When was the last time they brought in a high profile up and coming assistant from with the NFL.

you don’t need to know the salaries, just use your logic

Who commands more money someone with experience or someone just starting out? As you said, use logic. Again they can have a smaller staff and pay those people more. #whoopsie

no one else was breaking down the door to hire Canada or Austin. We’re hearing these young QC and OC’s getting multiple interviews, they’ll get more than one offer. Canada and Austin? I don’t think so. I maybe wrong but I doubt it

I think the only thing on record, and has been reported in the past by local sports writers, is they don't give out the top signing bonuses to grab the better practice squad UDFA's.

Look, we know historically the front office is cheap... they rarely bring in big-time free agents (although that might be smart depending on who you ask.) And there was a time where we let a lot of free agents walk in the 90s.

Tomlin doesn't have a huge staff, but neither did Cowher ... coincidence, or does that come from up top?

If a report came out saying they don't pay their coordinators and assistants as much as other teams would we really be surprised?

Think he maybe eyeballing a higher position in Tenn but as I’ve repeatedly stated we need to fix this line and for me that begins with coaching, then Center, then guard and get things aligned properly. Don’t talk to me bout QB until that’s fixed. I doubt Munch will comeback for O line but I’d be on his repeat call list if I were Khan. Khans awesome BTW, he may be.

I don't see Munch getting a Head Coaching gig his 1st year back.

The Steelers also do have the Assistant Head Coach title still available.

I get that, that;s why I said 'supposedly', though college coach's (at least at public uni's) would likely have to publish the salaries.

You misunderstood. He didnt say he learned about it in 2021, he was just stating 2021 was when Munch last coached. Read the whole quote:

But who cares, like I said, he’s not coaching presently and they should make every attempt to lure him here.

I’ll drive the 380 miles or so to pick him up at the Pittsburgh airport and personally deliver him to Rooneys front door. Just give me about 5 minutes notice to tell the wife I have important business to take care of.

Who ever is hired as the next Offensive Coordinator they best not force feed ANY of the current assistant coaches on him. First on the list to go should be Pat Meyer.

Unfortunately Munch is not coming back here. But if their was a sliver of a chance I will go pick him up personally as well...

Titans writers had the same article saying they should get Munch. Brian Callahan would likely prefer his Dad, Bill . But the legendary line coach is under contract in Cleveland. So they suggested the next best thing.
