Yeah ok, and Pats got beat by Pete Carroll's players this year, and now name me a HC that has won a SB without someone else's player in the last 30 years.

30 years? Bill Cowher. He won a super bowl in 2005 with no one from Noll's team.

And, I'm gonna hate myself for writing this, but Bill Belichick, John Hairball.

Bill Belichick won with Pete Carroll and Bill Parcells' players. Andy Reid won with Todd Haley and Romeo Crennel's players.

I said , and you are free to read again, and wonder why I said in the last 30 years.
If You had bought in just one FA, then you won with someone else's players.
Again name me one HC that hasn't won with someone else's players in the last 30 years.

Are you slow, or are you making a joke.
If Tomlin won with Cowhers players, then the Seahawks won with Pete Carroll's players. It was exactly the same time difference.

Ok I see that now. But that argument doesn't make any sense. No one builds an entire team from the draft anymore. The point people make with these comments is when a new coach comes in and takes over a FULL ROSTER of players that he INHERITED from a former administration and then wins. As Tomlin and others have.

But Cowher built his super bowl winning team with his own staff. He didn't INHERIT anything. That's the point people make.

Though it should be acknowledged that he had to be beaten over the head to draft Ben, who became the primary reason Bill finally got his ring. So, there's that!

Bottom line is... if Mike Tomlin had won a Super Bowl between 2014 and 2024... nobody would be criticizing. A Super Bowl would have been won with coordinators he hired... players he developed and teams that HE built. It never materialized and Tomlin was never really close to winning a Super Bowl even with the Klller B's... from '14-'18.

One of the reasons we are a seeing a successful resurgence of defensive coached teams is that they don't subscribe to the willy nilly approach of going for it on fourth down all the time like the offensive coaches do. Defensive coaches realize how precious every point is and don't gamble away a sure 3 points like the offensive coaches do. Time and time again coaches Dan Campbell the game away by going for it on fourth down and then coming away with nothing, only to end up losing the game by 3 points.

    Amen.
Just think for example if that had been Dan , or Sean in that SB, they would have not taken all of those 3, and then when the Pats scored, the game would have been way closer.

LoL. No people like You would have made more excuses. Like well he didn't do it in the daytime with a backup Qb on the 2 month of the new moon, or some dumb crap.
I guess making it to the AFC Championship wasn't close???
Tell me how if a NFL team averages 1/3 players turnover a year, how two years after they won the 1st SB that they could have had the same roster for the 2nd, and then even two more years later for the 3rd??
You guys hear something like sheep, and run with it.
I have already broken down how many players were from the 1st SB to the 2nd SB, and the 3rd. It's not even close, but I guess if You only count the Qb like you did in Seattle. LoL
