He’s been fired …….. Should the Steelers be interested ???
After trading a third and fifth for AB, signing him to a big extension, and getting exactly zero games out of him, I think Mayock is a pass.
Call me crazy.
/On the plus side, he may have made the best trade the Steelers have had in years.
Hell no, terrible GM. Most of his draft picks are out the NFL or in jail.
Plus he's 63, I need a little youth movement in my life in the Front office.
He should have stuck to commentary. He had no credentials to be a GM.
Why in the heck would the Steelers want Mayock? He drafted Ruggs, Arnette in the first round, and they had to cut both of them this season.
You can't hang AB on Mayock. AB has burned down 4 teams now...Oak was just#2
I can blame Mayock for the huge reach on Alex Leatherwood. Probably be a decent pro... but so far he is exactly what I thought he was
That being said. I like him....I might not hire him...but i like him
It’s going to be Hunt or Khan anyway. Already have a working relationship with Tomlin and heavily involved with their draft process.
Didn’t he gave us a third for Martavius Bryant or was it someone else
Yes. It was Bryant.
Yeah, but he was the only one who gave up draft picks to get him.
A 3rd for a guy who never played a game for them. Let’s pass on Mayock
That's going to end badly. Tomlin has so much power now.
I wanted Morgan or Schoen for GM
Mayock has found some good sleepers, but he botched his first-round picks, among other issues. Absolutely no.
I’d rather see him back at NFL Network as a draft analyst. He was never as knowledgeable as he portrayed himself to be, but he’s a lot more entertaining during draft season than Daniel Jeremiah.
The Raiders have not drafted well in Mayocks time, especially in the early rounds, albeit I think Gruden had his hands all over the draft so it’s hard to know how much blame should fall on Mike Mayock
I will say that they’ve found some really excellent players in the later rounds like Crosby, Renfrow and Hobbs, and picking up Waller in free agency was a steal. Again it’s hard to know who to credit for that
Wasn't Mayock on that trade was it??? I thought that was before He was their GM
From what I hear it was Gruden who actually drafted the players and ok'd trades. Mayock was just there to make the money work and give a second opinion. He has no track record as a GM as far as I am concerned outside of cutting Damon Arnett.
Omar Kahn has interviews lined up already. Normally when such cases happen, it generally means said person could likely be on their way out. Of the two, I trust Hunt more than Kahn.
Kahn has had the pleasure of being both Colberts and Nunns understudy. In addition, he has been the Head Director of Pro Scouting for some time now. Not saying Omar has no value as he has been proven to be a cap wizard. That said, what is more important; the extension of players or acquiring them?!
Mayock started 2019, martavius trade was 2018
Regarding Mayock.... hell to the no.
Heck, I would rather have Ryan Grigson or even Dave Gettleman than going anywhere near Mayock. Might have to add John Dorsey to the list as well. Any one of the three but Mayock.
I thought it was before His time, but wasn't 100% sure.
They probably forgo a GM and go back to Director of Football Ops for the scouting
I know this is a message board and all, but this is just silly
Please tell me this thread is a joke. It's a joke, right?
