Mike Collier worked at the Grocery store I go to, when he would see me in my steeler stuff, he would come out and talk to me. He showed me his playing card and we talked about the steelers old and new. He was a real nice guy and you could tell he really valued his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. RIP Mike

It is ironic that both have the same name, both are associated with Pittsburgh, and both died within days apart, rest in peace to both of them

A legend. There were local pro sports announcers that became known nationally, in days back through 50,000 watt clear channel radio, more recent times through cable/.internet exposure that expanded local coverage far beyond the region. Mike had a voice and style that made hockey fun and something you did not want to pass by.

Small city that had three awesome colorful sport broadcasters. A Steeler, a Penguin and a Pirate (when they had a real MLB team.) So grab a Terrible Towel and swat the bug lose on the rug while I scratch my back with a chainsaw.

RIP Mike! Should you see Bob Prince in the afterlife don't tell him about the shape of MLB in the Burgh;)

May his family find some comfort and peace during this difficult time and may our prayers be with them.
