I was the biggest Mike Adams hater on here, and was scared to death we'd take him in round 1... But at this point he's worth it with his upside.

I don't see just pot as a huge deal, and he's going to a strong locker room. He has potential to be a great player... Could be a bust too, but worth a shot in round 2.

Man I hope your right. I would have rather had Massie, but we need him to straighten out. I just question your judgment if you test positive at combine

I agree no more Scott this kid can't be worse and if he pans out than we are really young and could be really good up front for a long time.

Definitely needed a tackle for depth, and for down the road....who knows how long Colon sticks around if he gets hurt again?

Everyone needs to settle down give the guy a chance. He is willing to forgo his signing bonus for 2 years to prove to the team that he is committed and serious. Remember Dan Marino, Steelers wouldn't drafted him because he used drugs. So glad we never took that guy.

Anyone that comes to the NFL combine and fails a drug test is not too smart.
19 reps at 225? Pretty weak.

Santinio Holmes was basically booted beacause of pot.

I suppose upside football skills to life skills.

You're so right, how smart can you be to fail an easy test, when you KNOW it's coming due???
I guess I'll pull the 'he's only in his early 20's, how smart were we in our early twenties' card. Glass half full (unrealistic brownies-type) attitude?

Years ago the Steelers would have steered clear of this type of off field behavior.
Now they see that a Bengal was suspended only 3 games for 8 1/2 lbs of the plant and suddenly its not a big deal. I don't condone this behavior but I do question it quite a bit.

There had to be better options available with less baggage. Bust written all over it hope I'm wrong.

Most mock drafts had him going late in the first round until tested positive for marijuana. Many of them had him as OUR selection at # 24. To get him in the second without having to trade up is a great value.

I don't think he is any more susceptible to being a bust than any other pick we could have taken.

The last pothead from Ohio State helped us win a Superbowl.

I'd take another one of those.

Do you have a link to him saying he'd forgo his signing bonus for 2 years? I'd like to see that. I don't doubt you, I'm just not upon Adams as I should be. thx ahead of time.

Definitely some risk to this pick. Pot isn't a big deal but if you know your whole career hangs in the balance and you still can't resist it, it makes me question whether this guy is mentally tough enough to play at this level. (limas Sweed anyone?) Great talent and if any team can keep him straight it will be the Steelers. So, we'll see and cross our fingers.

He's made promises to Colbert, Tomlin and Kugler it seems, certainly according to the Steelers presser. Was told he was off our board entirely but requested a meeting. Hope he sticks to what he said.
