Finally, the middle of the field was used in this game!

Hopefully it will continue to be the norm!

I almost forgot it was legal to throw in that part of the field. I mean, it's been, what, like 6 years since we last saw it utilized in such a meaningful way? You certainly love to see it.

It's also especially impressive, given the fact that Fields' seemingly career-long inability to throw to that part of the field has been widely considered to be among his biggest weaknesses as a QB. He's definitely silenced at least some of those critics today.

my big thought all game long!

and a couple of dropped passes or more there too. Fields is improving - today was big. He and SMITH are working well together - and NICE to see AS on the sideline.

Losing BOSA helped us, but injuries happen!

The throw to CAIII for the TD was a laser. I had no idea Fields had such a live arm.

Romo talked about that throw for a long time. If he was split second early or late it would have been incomplete or picked off but he threw a perfect laser as you said.

Kenny Pickett making that same throw would have definitely resulted in, at best, a wildly inaccurate incomplete pass - and that's if he would have even seen Austin at all, which is honestly doubtful.

There was never anything wrong with his arm, it's upper echelon, he's just never going to be Peyton Manning.

The Steelers have used the middle of the field so little for so long that opponents probably don’t plan much for it.

If anyone has the all-22 footage from the Broncos game, there is a play in the second half where Muth runs a crossing route, not a deep or short cross, maybe 8 yards in that sweet spot between lbers and safeties where it honest to god looks like the Broncos know the play. Muth gets to about parallel with the center and no one cares because it looked like they all stepped forward at the same time. They had no fear of a pass over the middle. I think Austin's TD catch and run and the increased targets for Muth in that area will make teams think twice about stacking the box.
