    People can’t deal with facts
    Hurts their feelings
    But
    Facts don’t care about feelings

The problem becomes how do you evaluate candidates when you have no blue print for what you are trying to accomplish. Look at the OL position coaches they have had. They had Faneca and the OL basically shutting out one coach. They brought in a guy to teach outside zone blocking who had no idea what it was. Then coach after coach who were just bad. Munch comes in turns the ship around and when he leaves it all falls apart because Tomlin goes back to hiring the wrong guys.

They have some videos out there on draft class evaluations by Hoge and the number of times he is spot on in his evaluation is scary. Not sure why he doesn't do scouting for the Steelers because he'd crush it.

Young and up and coming coach
Very intelligent to the game of football
Will bring a good OC with him
    Plus will bring discipline
    Something we have been missing

Ok. Kinda of a hope for the best response but ok. Im with ya. If the Steelers hire him, I'll rally around him and support him like I would any coach they hire until they prove me wrong. I just dont know why alot of Steelers fans want Shula....but if its just because he is young and intelligent(which we dont know yet) and will bring a good OC(which we dont know yet).....thats a lot of faith to put into our next coach without any definite facts.

I'll hop on board with all you guys that want Shula if he is hired. I just dont see him as the answer. I posted last night how in his last 5 games....his defense was an absolute joke.....and tonight they are already struggling against the Bears. Bears have more rushing yards, receiving yards and passing yards going into the half and this is after Shula's defense just gave up 31 to the Panthers. I just dont get it....but again, I'm pretty slow.

    Once again,
    It’s just my personal opinion
Whomever the Steelers hire as a HC
I will support as I always have as a fan
Just hoping we can right this ship
60yrs old and this has been the longest playoff drought I have ever witnessed
Guess I am spoiled being from what was known at one time as
    The City of Champions

I do think there is merit in what Merrill said.

That said, I think one OC of his never got the love he deserved.
He had the Steelers only number one red zone offense since the stat was kept and Ben set all manner of franchise records under him.

Wanna guess without looking it up?

I would have to see what kind of staff he puts together but I think Flores is a better defensive mind than Tomlin. If he brings a top notch DC in, the two of them putting their heads together could come up with a really good defense.

I think Shula is still the front runner, he was the very first interview they had. Pair him up with someone like Scheelhaase or maybe even McCarthy. Or maybe Mike MDaniels if he doesnt land a HC job. I would love that one.

One of your best posts yet
    Agree 100%
    Talking about your second paragraph
I would be totally surprised if McDaniel landed a HC job this soon
    Once again
    DC Flores
    OC McDaniel

That's exacltyvahat I always told my teams. If you have a logical underpinning to why you did what you did because I was out of pocket (say on flight) and a decision needed to be made I willhave your back even if I ended up disagreeing with the decision later. However, if you didn’t then not so much.
