Yeah, because he was the ONLY reason the Steelers lost that game.

And, in turn, your comments will not deter him from making his opinion known. No harm. No foul.

Exactumundo. I will say this for Mendy though. It is better to remain silent and be assumed a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Does your suggestion not restrict individual freedom, at some level?

I would REALLY like to know what it was that was said that sent him over the edge like that. I feel that MOST not ALL criticism on this board is pretty legit and rational. I seriously doubt that Mendy is referencing the way people are complaining about Ike and Lewis or the D. I bet someone said some really crazy stuff and that's what made him so agitated.

We all work for employers that have rules. Some of the rules we might not like. And we are free to seek employment elsewhere if we decide that we don't want to abide by those rules. IMO,when we agree to do a job for a wage, we agree to abide by the employer's rules. I'm NOT saying I agree with imposing a rule like that.

Go into any Twitter feed or these player's Facebook pages and you'll see some really asinine stuff. Just pure hate and trolling. I have no problem with someone stating x player underperformed or cost his team. I have no problem with someone calling out the whole team for a perceived reason.

I DO have a problem when they make it personal and ride someone. I'll wager that's the kind of stuff Rashard is talking about mostly. But as I said before, he MUST know about trolls, flamers, haters, etc. And if you're in the public eye, you are a target - fair or not.

I stand by my advice: don't read your comments, or take it with several grains of salt.

Really if you think about it it's probably possible the guy that made him mad might follow him JUST to be a troll and is not really a Steelers fan at all. How could he know someone was a true fan just because they follow him on some dopey website.

Yes it sure does but if you know the rules before hand then I say its fair game. There are all kinds of standards in organizations and rules. Policy for some organization do not permit the use of facebook and or twitter nor conversations which involve their employer. In fact its grounds for dismisal.

What bothers me is that I always felt the Steeler organization held players to a higher standard. So lets get the guys focusing on football and less on facebook and twitter and berating fans and vice versa

I was just thinking that!! Woodley is on FB rooting for the Browns and Cowboys. James Harrison is on there calling out fans and their comments and now Mendy has taken to his Twitter for the same thing??? :frustrated:

You realize you're a Pittsburgh Steeler right?

THE best fan base in the world.

So how about dropping the 'tude when you're interviewed or "tweeting," which is really stupid to begin with.

Take a page from Jerome Bettis and Hines Ward. These guys are class acts that have endeared themselves to fans through their words and actions.

You seriously don't know how good you have it. Change your 'tude or you'll find yourself in Oakland at the end of your contract.

Mandenhall has a point here. Some of the comments that fans leave on the pages of Steelers players are embarrassing. "This team doesn't care!" --- "This team doesn't want to win!!"

I guess players on the 5-11 1985 team such as Louis Lipps and Stallworth didn't want to win because well, they lost.

Yeah, but I would be okay with a 5-11 record if I could see the passion from our players and I could see the coaches making adjustments when things dont work. Our team is a replica of last year when we got blown out and exposed by Tebow but really nothing has changed. Yes, we have an obscene amount of injuries to starters but why dont we have adequate back ups? In the 1980's, we didnt have a decent QB to bail us out like we do now. Its just really frustrating!

Regardless, Mendy and all of our players are making millions. If hard working fans who spend their dollars supporting our team want to complain about his play, so what?? Instead of taking to Twitter to complain about it, how about you hit the field and prove the naysayers wrong?

No one is forcing fans to spend their money, I'm fairly sure it was fans making it personal that got under Mendys skin. I don't care how much a fan spends, doesn't give you a right to act sub human, you know the kind of stuff I'm talking about.

    I am wondering...

Are the fans that are upset about this the exact same fans that are guilty of what Mendenhall and Harrison are addressing????

    :roflmao: :lolol:

Absolutely, but if fans are complaining because he missed the start of the season and then got re-injured who cares? I see Harrison getting all worked up on FB and actually addressing individuals - asking for their addresses, etc, and it just seems like there are so MANY other things we should be focusing on.....

They should just stay off it, I agree. But look how offended we fans were to being criticized and having our fandom questioned? Didn't feel good right? And they are taking much more criticism then that, very hard to ignore it, that's why they shouldn't have twitter accounts in the first place.

Me too. I think it just causes so much more controversy and is a huge distraction. That being said there has been some good outside of sports which has been done by social media ...

Oh and yes I would like to shake your hand and pat you on the back as well and Tomil_Era would want to kiss you cause I know he thinks like we do lol
