Before everyone hated Mendy, and said Redman was better. Now everyone is saying Redman better step up.

Mendy has been decent for us. Has he been a 1st round talent? I don't think so. Hopefully Red/Clay can get the job done in the playoffs. Curious to see what do we do next year.

ACL tear cutting running backs are normally done for a good year before it's totally healed and comfortable on it....

Does this put an end to the every down back argument? many said that if they kept it up they would run the wheels right off him or run him till he broke. I believe we are there.

Not me .....Now we have a power back and BA needs to step up...Red can and will hit the hole now we need a gameplan that fits that approach....

Nope, I've never been less concerned with losing a starting player. No disrespect to Mendy and I wish him a speedy recovery but I just mean that I have 100% confidence in Redman. :good:

Always loved Mendys body of work unlike others. Yeah he danced alot but he was our best chance to break one

Redman brings a new style to our running game. Really love his straight ahead never give up approach

I dont think its going to matter much that Mendy is out to be totally honest just means Redman will get more work and he is like a mini Bettis that wont go down.

This wont mean we have to throw anymore in my estimation but we shall see.

Mendy might break one for 20 yards, but he never breaks them like Willie Parker did for 50 to 70 yards. I think this might be a blessing in disguise for the Steelers. Redman is going to get more consistent yards and help the Steelers move the chains better. Its also going to force BA change things up, possibly for the better, we might see more power running in the playoffs. Me Like!

    That sucks.

Forget the year, he's done as a starting RB. I suppose anything is possible, but RBs very rarely (ever?) bounce back to their old form after an ACL tear.

I didn't see the injury happen cause I listened to the game on the radio but I really had no feelings of being concerned.

I've watched too many runs from Mendenhall where he danced, never broke a tackle or didn't follow his blockers.

Redman, If given the carries will put up a hundred yards consistently. There are probably 20 other teams out there that Redman would have been their premier running back.

I do believe that this means the Steelers look to the draft for a young RB due to the lack of depth now. Torn ACL's are not favorable for Mendenhalls style.

I think Redman is great as a change of pace back alongside Mendy. As much as I like the guy, I just don't agree that other teams would have him as a premier running back, though. We haven't see him enough to make that assessment. As has been stated numerous times, his YPC are deceptive because of his role. We all know that he has the potential to be a premier running back, but he hasn't had the opportunity to prove that potential... yet.

What he does have is a whole lot of heart when he plays, and I don't think anyone can deny that this is a huge plus for him.

I do agree that they'll probably look for a speedster RB in the draft later on, which is annoying, as before all the injuries we were set at that position (Mendy, Redman, Dwyer, Batch, Clay), even if we lost MeMo.

All I could think when I saw this was.....

    PWP WILL BE GOING BONKERS!

Let's see what Redman has as the primary punch?

I'm concerned only because it ruins any trade value Mendenhall had.

At least with Redman it will be 2nd down and 6, 3rd down and 3, not 2nd and 11... Now only if Redman learns to hold the ball...

IDK. I never had any animosity towards Mendy. I just wanted him to be more decisive when hitting holes.

I also think Redman is more than capable of carrying the load.
