Seems rather harsh if you ask me. Apparently as an athlete you cannot have an opinion or rather more vocal about an opinion. You need to forgive and forget and move on. Wow you really hold a grudge.

Mendy is a very intelligent and articulate athlete. He made a mistake. Get over it

This almost ruined my weekend but if my boy Redman has to nurse that hip, i guess it wouldn't be a bad thing to have twinkle toes back. Being a MMA fan my nick names for having Redman and Dwyer as our backs would've been Ground and Pound. Redman "Ground" ..Dwyer "Pound"

Seriously. I think being such a public figure it's best to keep your thoughts to yourself but it's a free country.

I don't disagree with everything he said either. I agree that it is a little bit strange to celebrate a death, no matter who it is. I won't judge those who were, but it's not something I would do.

Yes, apparently the message of too much hate in the world was lost on this one.

I am not sure how much time the Denver Broncos have prepared for Mendy, but I bet It wasn't as long
as I spent composing this sentence. I think if I was preparing for the Steelers I would concentrate
my game plan on #7 and 84 and be licking my chops at how I am going to attack a weak PGh Steeler OL.

You're assuming that we are going to run the same slow ass developing plays as we have done in the past. Plus, this line isn't any weaker then the lines we have had for the past several seasons, they'll be fine Sunday.

Well you my friend would probably loose most your games,,,as it all starts up front.....How many times have you heard Mr. Lebeau talk about stopping the run first and making them 1 dimensional ?? The reasons are as I stated ...It is Football 101,,run the ball force the help and hit the PA.. It is really that simple ,all Teams can pass ,but can all Teams run? What kinds of adjustments are made if a Team is passing all over you?I will tell you what kinds ....Nothing as long as keep the play in front of you and tackle the catch....

DL has stated thay forever as well....Now on the flip side if a Team can run and pass from the same sets you must pick the face of your Destroyer...The pass can be stopped or halted in many ways there are 3 things that can happen in a pass play and 2 of thiose are bad ......So by tackling the catch and stopping the YAC you can force a Team to take the long road and wait for the sack, strip sack,Int, or Incompletion,,,as appossed to waiting for a Team to run the ball down your throat....Where positive yards without any fumbles is called what?Imposing your will...I will answer for you..

And when you do that they must adjust at which point #7,#84,#83,#88 and whatever else #'s have a easier job...This includes OL and any eligible Receiver...

So you play the game the way you want to,,,similar to a BA style and I will play similar to a Cower style....Keep in mind this Team has a Ton more talent than Cower had and as a resuly the Owners know,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,If you can't stop our running game you have very little chance of winning....Thus Mr. Rooney states we need to run the ball.....He knows what #84 and #7 all about,,,he also knows to see them do the most damage it will come after the run game is a true threat....

    OK, here again.
I don't have to like Mendy, or any player for that matter, to like what he brings to the game. With Rashard in our backfield opposing Ds are on [[|EDGE|]] and this opens the pass game for Ben and gang. I agree he needs to hang onto the ball and that this year will be pivotal to his career in Da Burgh. The question is can he rebound from the serious injury he sustained both mentally and physically? I think he will and I also believe he's going to come in this year with a bang and you will see 1st round talent and what exactly that means.

Like all of you I digg Redman, he's all heart and Dwyer is a promise yet to keep but they are not in the same talent class as the former Big 10 star.

A healthy Mendenhall, at his best, is the best we've got and elite in this league. If he's back there, he's a huge threat!

Mendy has six fumbles on 850+ carries thats not horrible or bad even i think it works out to a fumble every 135 carries red right now fumbles once every 54 carries the average in 06 was 1.02 fumbles per 100 carries so he is really above average

Perhaps Erhardt-Perkins style is a more accurate description. :)

If he'd been drafted by Baltimore and we'd taken Ray Rice, he'd be at the top of everybody's fantasy list and half of this board would be crucifying Rice. He has better tools than the everyone else on our team, and better tools than almost everybody else in the league. That's elite in my book. Throughout his entire career he's had an OC that considers running the ball nothing but window dressing and put zero effort into it. He's also only had terrible blocking from his OL and FB. He's done better than he should have given the circumstances if you ask me. Dobre Shanka is right. If Mendenhall is as healthy as he was last year, and if he can get decent support from his team, he'll be elite.

I'm so tired of people reading stat lines to judge a player's quality. I can't imagine a less logical way to do it.

You crush him for the stat line last year but forget to say the fact that last year was one of the if not the lowest percentage we have ever ran the ball. Actually last year was pretty good on yards per carry the only stat that really matters with running backs

Two years ago I considered Mendenhall the best all-around back in the league. My opinion may mean nothing, but it is what it is. I think that he looked for too much on most runs last year, and last year's line was really bad.

Will Johnson is also a better blocker than DJ and a lot more athletic.

Mendy missed a 1000 yd season last year. He also got injured and the line in front was not stable.

That said, this 225 pounder has the moves and feet to run w/ the best of them. He has pure speed to break one away sweeping left or right, yet strong enough to run it right up the middle. When we offset him up the cntr, as we do too often, he has incredible feet/moves to search for a crease and unbelievable quickness to accelerate through it. Elite...

Has he lived up to his potential? No, but neither has the line in front of him. We'd be foolish not too use him and use him a ton over any RB on our roster when he's ready to go. I like going to Redman/Dwyer tandem to help Mendy and I think it would be very effective.

You may not like him or what he has to say, but the former Big Ten Player of the Year is the real deal.

Can't some people read? Or do they just tend to ignore? Mendy will take over after the BYE?

At this message board, if you're not living up to your potential, then you are not good enough, regardless of how good your sub-potential playing level is. We want overachievers, not underachievers, even if that means playing our worst 11 players.

The fumble thing is a myth, just one of those things that caught fire on a message board. His SB fumble didn't help his reputation, even know Matthews played it perfectly, also a missed assignment by our TE Johnson? I think it was? Anyway, he doesn't fumble alot and is our best back.
