I wouldn't be too worried about running on Baltimore, Trent Richardson ran for almost 100 yards in the 1st half against them, and Arians Foster made them look really bad. Teams are running on the Ravens this year a lot more than they ever used too.

Red had a great game, but while watching I saw several plays that Red got nice gains on where I was thinking "if that was Mendy there, he might take it to the house."

I am not worried, Mendy looked good when he first came back (much better than the other guys up to that point). Mendy actually started the resurgence of our running game. I am happy to have all 3 guys. I would like to see Mendy thrive under Haley, and I think he can.

    :this!: 100%.

Mendenhall better be puttin' the Chiefs on blast monday night.

If he struggles against KC I'll chalk it up to rust. If he does poorly though through the whole game I wouldn't start him against Balt.

Because if he does poorly against Balt as well and they don't switch him out when we had backup RB's blasting the Giants?...

Who cares how much talent he has??? Umm, generally the recipe for success in professional sports is to load your team up with as many talented players as possible. Scheme and hard work only goes so far if you don't have enough talent.

I won't be worried at all about him running against Baltimore, assuming he's fully healthy.

Todd Haley was asked about this in his presser today and and they told him that Jonathan Dwyer had told them that Mendy is the starter. Haley goes "Coach Dwyer told you that"? I LOVE TODD HALEY SO MUCH! Have I mentioned that on here before???? Haley went on to say that he strongly believes that it's good for the team to have competition at every position. So I think if they're not liking what they're seeing in Mendy they won't hesitate for a single second to put Dwyer and Redman back in there.

Okay, maybe we have differing opinions about what "talent" means. Let's just call it "make goodness in football now." We should play the guy that makes the most goodness in football now, and shaner and I think that's Mendenhall.

What did Ben do to be automatically named the starter at the beginning of the season? He had previous experience on his resume, that's what. Mendenhall was never handed the position, he had to take it from someone years ago just like everyone does. As for this year, Mendenhall was the first back to show any kind of life, and that was in his first game, week 5. He's played well when he's been in, and most people agree he has the most talent (pfft, talent, how worthless) and the most potential on any given play, based on his physical attributes. He's a power back but he's much quicker and faster than Dwyer and Redman, and he's a better receiver.

Well, it's not exactly all they've done. Dwyer averaged 2.9 yards per carry over the first three games, plus a brutal fumble that helped us lose to Oakland. Redman averaged 2.5 yards per carry over the first 5 games. I'm not saying they aren't good backs, and I'm not saying they aren't good for our team or starting material. But don't act like they've shone every chance they got. They've shone when the OL has played well enough to let them.

As you should be. Baltimore has a scary run defense. There are a mere 27 teams with a better one so far this season, including the Eagles.

It is not what I seem to think he is doing (or has done in the past) and I have not seen Dwyer or Redman do it the last 3 games. It is not what I think I see, I like many others most likely watch and re-watch plays on my DVR and Merril Hoge concurred on his "film" breakdown regarding the recent performances of Dwyer/Redman as "one cut and go." Dwyer did dance around about before, but not recently. And in the previous 3+ years that Mendenhall has been playing he does hesitate at the hole and then try to break it to the outside frequently. I did not rewatch the Eagles game, so I can't say if he hesitated there.

You can disagree, but there's no point in telling me "what I think I am seeing." I want all of them to be successful and they will probably have the best running back triumvirate, if not tandem in the league. I do think that while Mendenhall is the most talented and dynamic of the group he is the easiest to tackle if they can get to him.
