Yeah nothing Tomlin could do there. It was unfortunate because there was no backup RB for Bell afterwards but Blount had to go.

I'd put Blount on Colbert more than Tomlin. Why sign one of the worst behaved players in the NFL to be a backup RB in a system he doesn't fit to be a veteran presence in a young locker room? Tomlin used Bell 85% of the time anyways.

Unless Tomlin specifically requested Colbert sign Blount I can't put it on Tomlin.

I can’t imagine the ****show day in and day out when AB was here. That was a fractured locker room and I’m sure Tomlin wants no part of that again, especially for a player of Ingrams talent.

They obviously put a premium on team unity, now.

You can discipline a player in ways other than cutting him. Hell, stick him on the bench the rest of the season to send the message.

Your classroom analogy doesn't hold up at all. You are comparing adults working for private entities to teenagers in a public institution. That said, I do have to be very careful in how I discipline disruptive students because sending them out of the room often is what they want. Also, it isn't just to prove a point. If a student is expelled, they can't come back later in the school year and stop my students from reaching their goals. That is exactly what Ingram will try to do when the Steelers play the Chiefs. That is what Blount would have helped the Patriots do if the two teams had met in the playoffs that year.

The bottom line is that every time the Steelers have caved in one of these situations, it has either worked out for the player, weakened the Steelers, or both.

Yeah, this group just oozes team unity every time Roethlisberger gets crushed and his linemen don't even bother to help him up.

Remember, this is the same organization that had Kevin Colbert saying crap like this about Roethlisberger: “I honestly believe it can be a burden on him more often than he would like to admit. He has 52 kids under him. I want them to step up and say, ‘Ben, what do I have to do? Can I do this better? What do we have to do to win a Super Bowl?’

Yeah, that was the best way to get a bunch of guys who have the egos that come with making it to the NFL and get them to be unified with the quarterback.

So pay him and get no production out of him? Or get a problem off your team and get a draft pick in return? There's been a few idiots that acted up. Other than those types that are going to cause problems no matter the circumstances we really haven't caused ourselves any future harm by cutting loose of a guy like Ingram.

I get that you won't ever take a side that criticizes the Steelers, but you are absolutely missing the bigger picture here. In the case of Ingram, they weakened their roster while strengthening the Chiefs. They also once again demonstrated that players can pout their way out of town if they want, usually with the Steelers getting nothing or pennies on the dollar in return.

If you wanna have a discussion with me don't start off with this type of B.S. Or you can start getting the treatment some of the other Jack asses get from me.

I am sorry that you find the truth so uncomfortable, but your record speaks for itself. But hey, the internet tough guy routine gave me a good chuckle, so thank you for that.

The Steelers aren't a Super Bowl contender with or without Ingram, some of you guys act like Ingram is Lawrence Taylor, good riddance.
