As much as I would like an upgrade at that position, I think it was a mistake not keeping him.

Dumb move by the FO. Should have at least met that offer. He was great at stopping the run.

You can't spend 4 million in cap space on a guy who is going to be 31 next season, and plays a position that has lost it's value/emphasis in the playbook.

McClendon was a very good run stopper in a 3/4, But We play a 3/4 barely 30% of the time.

I think they like Walton enough to let him walk. I still think he played a little out of position here but mclendon was a good player

Coming from an UDFA, Big Mac did a great job for the Steelers. Thanks and good luck!

    Yep, I agree.

    I always liked McClendon, though.

I appreciate his effort and wish him well. I also have vivid memories of Baltimores OL repeatedly pushing him backwards and running the ball up the middle during the opening drive of the 2014 playoff loss.

I wish him well too (when he's not playing the Steelers) but I always thought he got plenty of credit for what he brought. Sure, he was better than that bust NT we picked up from the Chargers, but McClendon was average on his best day.

Steelers wanted him to replace Casey and he was never able to do it.

I called it LAST year when I wanted the Steelers to grab a NT/DT with one of their first two picks.

Yeah I hate that we lost him. If he came back I was going to name the St Bernard I'm about to get Mac. So now I'm going back and forth between Casey or just straight up Snack. I played DT for 12 years and a St Bernard just reminds me of one. Anyways I liked Mac a lot and thought he was very underated because he didn't look like a true 3-4 NT.

I live out in the country and they just show up at the gate. I open it. They move in. One dog even brought his own cat.

Great? I don't agree. He was a decent nose. He is better suited for DE in a 3-4. Wonder how the Jets will use him?

I have an Australian Shepherd named Sidney who is pushing 80 pounds. Her dad was on the large size as well. But yeah she doesn't miss a meal.
