Please don't say wwe. It's very offensive to an old school fan like me. Lol. WWF is all there is. It is like saying black and yellow instead of black and gold.

Sorry to bust your bubble brother, but that is exactly what it felt like and looked like!!! Every so often Pac would start going off on Mayweather and he'd just stand there blocking it, then Pac would just suddenly back away for no reason and let him off the ropes. Complete BS

Your beloved sport officially died May 2, 2015!

I was actually saying don't insult WWF by calling it WWE. LOL!!! I actually thought boxing died in Tokyo when Tyson bit the dust.

Definitely. Apparently it was Vince's fault though because I think HE was the one that sued and HE wound up losing. LOL.

Aye, boxing died a long time ago. Remember how great of a sport it used to be? Well, remember when it used to be a sport? I bet Myron does anyway. :)

No actually Myron took so many hits he forgot. Lol! Yeah man I used to watch boxing on espn classic constantly. Ppv sorta screwed it up too because it made it harder to follow. If they would bring back Wide World of Sports like it used to be it might revive the sport.

So true. I haven't watched it since. Those Russian brothers who's names I can't spell, they were absolutely horrible to watch. Boxing is still big, but for many of us, it died when Lennox knocked out Tyson. I haven't watched a fight since and likely never will again.

Yep, and those Hollyfield - Bowe fights were awesome. Don't see anything like that anymore.

    Sugar Ray - Hagler

    Those were good fighting days.

I do TTF...I remember when this sport mattered. Boxing buried itself. It will never be as it was in the 70s and early 80s....as I remember it. Not to mention how it was in its heyday of the 50s. Just to many people with their hand out for money now.Don King and Bob Arum killed this sport. AND THAT IS SO SAD!! It really is a great game.

Apparently Holyfield is now as broke as a convict. He still does charity work though and I saw a couple of weeks ago that he's actually doing a charity boxing even where he's gonna box Mitt Romney. It will probably be better than his fights with Tyson. LOL.

The only time I ever made money betting on a sporting event was the last Sugar Ray/Hagler fight. Even though it wasn't really "boxing", I liked watching a young Mike Tyson manhandle his opponents.

He made those guys look so bad, I remember one kept trying to get up and he was stumbling and falling down all over. He just destroyed guys.

Yeah that was when he won the title from Trevor Berbick and it was hilarious. I think it was Tony Tucker that he hit so hard once that he literally knocked him up off his feet and his feet went through the bottom ropes and he just fell flat on his face. It was brutal but incredible to watch someone be able to hit that hard. I'm with santee in loving his early days. I know those guys weren't really competition but sometimes a good beatdown is just fun to watch. We are bad people. LOL.

LOL, thats right, Trevor, that was funny :lolol:

And did you ever see a boxer as afraid as Sphinx was??? He wanted to be anywhere but there!

Yeah he just held him like crazy. Tyson made a great bully. He was probably the last fighter that actually struck genuine fear in to the hearts of people. That "mystique" is probably a double edged sword though. Guys that have it and wind up getting beat seem to never recover from it. Liston and Foreman were never viewed the same after Ali was done with them and Tyson was never viewed the same after Douglas had his 15 minutes of fame. I would have loved to have seen Tyson fight Holyfield when he was under Cus D'Amato's tutelage and actually still disciplined.

Yup, think everyone wanted to see that. And although I knew the loss to Douglas would set that fight back, I had no idea Tyson was headed off the cliff the way he did.
