Mayor Of Kingstown

anybody see this show ? if not i highly recommend it.

 

Haven't even heard of it.

 

me either until a few days ago. my brother recommend it to me. i ended up binge watched all 10 episodes friday night. just couldnt tear myself away from it.

of course there is no way of predicting how good future seasons will be, but i must say after watching just this one season i would put it on par with my all time favorites such as the soprano's, the wire, breaking bad, dexter, game of thrones and sparticus.

 

I still watch Spartacus. LoL. That was awesome. Dexter I still haven't watched the new season yet. I have it on DVR.

just watched the last episode of dexter last night.

 

Yes. I own them all. LoL. The stuff they were doing with camera shots for action shots was very cutting edge for the time. Plus I'm a fool for any shows set in those times.

 

sparticus got me busted by my ISP. my nephew was going away to college, so i was down loading my favorite movies from PIRATE BAY and burning them to cd's to take with him. probably downloaded 25-30 movies. then a week or 2 later i thought about sparticus so i downloaded all the episodes. 2 or 3 days later i get a threatening letter from my ISP to cease or else...

 

I need a new show. I may check this out. Something to hold me over until Ozark starts back in a couple of weeks.

 

I watched the first two episodes, now it's only on Paramount+.

At first I thought it was about Bob Marley but now I'm wondering if the Mayor shoots arrows?

It got 8.3 on iMDB which is good. Where does the show fall on the political spectrum? Is it more neutral like The Wire or more moralistic?

i dont really understand your question. the guy they are referring to as the mayor, isnt actually the mayor, but he does run the town.

lol..preachy ? again i dont know how to answer that. the main character isnt playing hawkeye. i guess it is up to the viewer to decide if he is a good guy or not. he is a former convict who for a price acts as a mediator between the prison gangs , the people who run the prisons, and the city officials. everybody is corrupt. the local police, the wardens, the guards, the mayor.
its kind of like a cross between the wire and the sopranos.
