Mayock says Poe = Ngata

3 first round draft picks on the DL in the last 4 years plus one veteran:

Hood, Heyward, Poe, Keisel.

We were speaking as if we draft Poe. Then we have more investment than we have room. I agree we need a nose tackle, but assuming Hood improves or at least remains serviceable (underperforming or not, he's still "good enough" that he doesn't need replaced right now) and Heyward works out (he will), DL is far from our biggest concern. Nothing against Poe or whatever position he plays, but we have bigger fish to fry. I'm mostly talking about OL, but a new ILB would not be worthless without a new DL player. We'd still have a good DL. And we can always get one in a later round or next year. Doesn't have to be a first round pick.

 

I think he means if we selected Poe this year, then it would be 3 first rounders on the DL in the past 4 years.
