Its been a few years since I ve been to a game. The last time I was there, I sat in the 515,516 sect and didnt mind the seats. Didnt know at the time that it was the visitor side, so this time want to sit on Steelers side.

My question is are the seats down in the 100s worth the extra money? Looking at about $50 more per ticket. Can you see just as good or does being up higher help see the whole field?

What about the end zone? Can you see? All the seats bleachers?

Last question, if I sit down in the 100s, what are the chances I could get an autograph? Would love for Troy to sign my jersey. I know, wishful thinking.

My seats are on the 100 level. They blow. I know its against conventional wisdom, but personally I prefer to be up higher, like the 500 level. Sure the players are smaller, but you can see more of the play more easily. Also being that high it matters even less if you are not centered on the field (ie closer to the 50 yl). End zone seats in the 500 level afford you a good view of the field regardless of what side of the field the teams are on. Thats not true in the 100s. Mine are 118...visitor side, just past the end line. If they are moving toward the closed end, particularly inside the 30, they're great seats. Anything beyond that you're watching the Jumbotron.

As far as autographs, I've never seen a player sign them. But then again, Im almost always on the visitor side and Im never looking for it. If you want autographs, your best bet is to wait outside of the players lot after the game. The players lot is just outside Gate B. Leave Gate B, cross Rooney Dr, head slightly left and immediately after crossing the players lot is right there. Its the one with the movable barricades with security stationed every 15 feet. If you hang there after the game some players walk, others take the shuttle bus and depart right there. A lot of players are good about giving a wave or signing an autograph. James Harrison used to be real good about it. He'd hang out for a few minutes, talk, and sign a lot of autographs. If you arrive early enough, you may catch them on the way in, but IDK how receptive they are before the game. If you do that, you have to be early. 10:30 is the cutoff for a 1 o'clock game, so Im guessing it would be 1:30 for a 4:00 game. Security has told me Troy (and Hines when he was there) was always the first one in around 7:00 (about 11:00 for a late game).

As for tickets, its a buyers year. Don't jump too early and you'll get a great deal. I know a ticket broker who had a stack of unused Club East seats in his pocket at the Bears game this year. If you can stomach it, wait until late afternoon and you should be able to get good tickets and not much over face value.

Thanks. I know the 500 seats are pretty good and you can see everything. Plus if youre in the undercover section, rain is of no worry, or at least not as much. Right now, the 500 seats are in the $77-$100 range.

Dont think I want the end zone.

    Those are endzone seats.

I may look into sending something in for him to sign.

You know an intern probably signed it, right? A friend of my dad is good friends with Mario Lemieux and he was constantly getting requests to take things to Mario to have signed. After a while it got old, so this guy started signing things himself.

Bobbys right.....I collected baseball autos for years. I would not put any auto in my collection that wasnt signed in front of me. One exception....I couldnt make a Pete Rose signing years ago and really wanted a few things signed by him. Sent a trusted friend down with cash for autos, gas, lunch and a few bucks for his time. Those are the only autos in my collection that were not signed in my presence.

Hey guys I have a question, and its Heinz Field Related. Maybe TTF has an answer for me. Why did we only get 65K plus seats in our stadium when some college stadiums are known to have more? Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Alabama, and Texas all have stadiums that hold over 100K people. Was that too much to ask for, especially considering the rich tradition of the Steelers in the NFL. Sixty five thousand is just a little over what PNC Park and Mellon Arena hold combined. Second question: Can the Steelers sell out a 90k seat stadium eight times a year? I tend to believe that it is possible. BTW, the big-market excuse doesn't hold water here. Set me straight guys.

I don't know the exact answer, but if IIRC, funding is a big part of the reason. As far as those college stadiums go, it's apples, oranges, and pears when comparing Big Ten, ACC, and SEC stadiums. Heinz is the 4th or 5th biggest in terms of capacity for ACC venues, and I don't believe a Pitt game has ever sold out. I could be wrong on that, though.

I think it has something to do with the blackout rule if the steeers couldnt
sell the tickets the locals wouldnt be able to watch their beloved steelers
90k tickets is an awful lot of tickets to sell even if we were5-0 and like this year wher we are 1-4 it would be impossible
if you go to ticketmasternow you can find tickets for this weeks game agaist the hated ravens stillavailable
