boz hasn't been all that good either this year so being just as confident in him as boz may be a push this year.

 

He had a bit of a rough start, but Boswell has earned a great deal of trust. Wright has not.

not a Tomlin fan , really never was, after I saw about 5-6 seasons worth.

Boz has earned it but this was his second worse year of his career percentage wise so far.

 

Don’t know why they can’t at least bring in another guy to see if he can push Wright or be better then him and pay the guy the league minimum if he works out and just have Wright inactive the next few games. This game with the Bengals is gonna be close and FG’s and field position on kickoffs is gonna be important. You can’t have a guy like Wright who can’t even get the ball to the 10 yard line on kickoffs and is missing 39 yard FG’s kicking in a big game like this where you are desperately trying to save your season.

If I’m Tomlin I have Wright kick at Heinz Field non stop the next 2 days and see how many he makes and his kickoffs as well. If I don’t feel comfortable with the results by Thursday I bring another guy in to work out and sign him and just keep Wright inactive the next few weeks. It’s not ideal and it would suck to pay 3 kickers and keep one on the roster and pay him but it is what it is at this point. The bottom line is winning games and keeping Wright as your kicker doesn’t give you the best chance to win games.

 

Wright has a track record. Are you really going to ignore that and just look at a day or two of practice?

Also, they would have to cut someone to make room for another kicker and they don't want to do that. Who would you cut from the active roster?

With that said ....there is only one other Kicker I would take over him, and that's it.

 

Plus it's going to be very cold on Sunday dipping down to 16°, kicking the ball will be like kicking a rock.
