I know the guy is 7 for 7 so far with one made FG and 6 made extra points but I still do not trust this guy to be kicking for me in the playoffs if Boswell is out I just don’t. His kickoffs have been terrible and barely make it to the 10 yard line which is going to give the opposing team good field position everytime you kick off. We still haven’t seen him kick either in a pressure situation late in a game or if the game is on the line from something like 40-50 yard range. So we just don’t know if he can do that and is capable of doing that. So I don’t know what the Steelers should do moving forward.

I know this though I just don’t think Wright is the answer you gotta upgrade and do better. Looking at the free agent list there isn’t much out there but the best name I see at the moment is Chandler Catanzaro. He has made 84 percent of his kicks in his career being 128 for 142 and has a career long of 60 yards and at least has a resume and some pedigree having kicked in the league for around 6-7 years. If I’m Tomlin and there is any doubt at all that Boswell is still gonna be out and not play I am bringing this guy in to kick over Matthew Wright in the playoffs and not even thinking twice about it.

I just don’t think this is getting enough attention at the moment and it’s something Tomlin and Colbert had better address here soon if they have any doubts at all that Boswell is gonna miss any games in the playoffs. You can’t go into the playoffs with a kicker like Wright who has zero experience and has yet to prove himself that he can kick for you in a big time situation and make a FG to win a game. You have to do better then Matthew Wright and Catanzaro right now makes the most sense if Boswell is still out.

I'll take the short kickoffs, Steelers just have to tackle well. Sometimes it works out and a guy hold for the return team, Refs call that half the time on punts and kickoff returns.

Wright doesn't have the leg strength, you gonna have to be 45 yards and in.

But, sounds like Boswell is suppose to practice and be back this week from what I hear.

I tend to agree, but only if there’s reason to believe that Boswell’s injury will linger. My guess is that the training staff is thinking he’ll be fine or they would have done more.

I'd sit Boswell again this week and go from there. He should be fine
