And he still counts on the 53 man roster.

    Yes....I forgot to add that.
I'm just worried....two missed field goals are not a little thing. You miss one .....I get it ....it happens....two .....no good

Yeah I doubt they would cut him. But you never know. Maybe they bring another kicker in, but I just don’t see them tying up two roster spots for a place kicker

I thought that we should have gone for it when it was 4th and 6 from the Saints 30 yard line. After seeing how badly he missed the 39 yarder, I gave him no chance to make the 48 yarder. He shanked it so bad it looked like he was trying for the coffin corner.

I don’t know if that was due to Wright weakness or Danny Smith getting cute and asking Wright to keep it in the field of play. Wright did sail the last kickoff into the end zone. Boz has quite a few kicks that were caught between the end zone and 5 yard line.

Didn't sciba kick one out of bounds on a kick off two weeks ago? I bet that's what cost him his job.

It looked pretty windy in the stadium today. Could have played a role.

I hope that was the problem....because We need every point We can get. We have no room usually for missed FG.
Although the pigeons didn't seem affected by the wind. LoL

Sciba doesn't have the leg to be an everyday NFL kicker. Its hard to last in this league if you don't have the leg for 50+ yarders and we have dudes kicking it from 60+ with ease now. It just takes too much away from your offense. If we get it to the 42-43 yard line, we can try it with Boz and have a shot. With Sciba we would need an extra 10 yards.

He was fine enough, but Wright has played enough Kicker with good stats in this league to have gotten the nod. He was 5/7 from 50+, 6/8 from 40-49, and a perfect 17/17 from <40 for his career prior to today. 28/30 on XP and a career long of 59. On paper this kid is actually pretty solid. Sure, he sucked terribly today... but I totally understand why they took him over Sciba.

I realize all of this, hence why I posted the answer to my own question. He has more experience. I didn't know enough about Scibas leg strength due to such a small sample size.

Well its due to upside too. Sciba has none unfortunately. Despite being one of the best kickers in college football percentage wise, he only was allowed to attempt 1 kick of 50+ yards (47 games). If he had the leg for it, they would have let him kick those. They didn't... which leads me to believe he doesn't have a big enough leg to even get it over the crossbar from 50. Not what you're looking for in an NFL kicker.
