Bodes well for us. We've had some success against Cassel in the past.

Last season he went 11/26 for 154 yards with 0 TD and 1 pick.

In 2008 he went 19/39 for 169 yards with 0 TD and 2 picks.

This sucks! We always play down to our competition and now that our competition just went a little farther down that also must mean our OWN performance just went down as well. LOL.

I actually think Cassell is better than Ponder. Ponder might be the worst QB in the league.

You could say that or just acknowledge we just aren't as good as you would like to believe.

True that. I used to think we were playing down to our competition, but maybe they were playing down to us. :hmmm:

Id rather have Ponder. I dont know why but I feel like every time a back up plays against us, they have a career day.

Yes, he did...I was there! He made some really good throws in the second half and OT which we lost by a FG! Does it really matter WHO the QB is for the other teams? As long as our D can't get a turnover, then what does it matter, really? We didn't pick of Locker or come even close to the overthrows by Dalton.

Remind me....was that the game when Ben got hurt and Batch came in passing the team down to the edge of field goal range in a tie game with time winding down and then they took the ball out of his hands and ran the most ill-advised toss sweep in NFL history on 3rd and 2 losing 5 or so yards thereby knocking themselves out of field goal range and essentially gave the game away? Yeah I was at that one too. Seems there have been no shortage ore gut wrenching losses over the last few years....

Yeah, thats why we aren't winning games, didn't have anything to do with scoring 9 points against the Titans, 10 points against Cincy and then turning the ball over to Chicago half a dozen times.

The Steelers are better off facing Cassel he doesn't run like Ponder.

Our defense isn't getting it done either, BF. ZERO turnovers and 3 sacks in three games is pathetic.

Come on Jack, they are lacking in one category and yes it's pathetic but 9 points???? 10 Points??? Sorry but that doesn't cut it in the NFL, that doesn't cut it in high school! So what you are saying is ok defense, its not enough to hold teams to 20 points, we need you to score for our pathetic offense too. Please, it's ridiculous getting on our defense. Offense has lost all 3 games all by themselves.

Are you serious? I could not disagree more with this. Our defense has been below the line too. Our defense has to step it up and create turnovers and get sacks. We've got to give our offense a short field on occasion. We've got to get a score or two on defense on occasion. Shoot, look at the Bears last week. We were on the way back to making it a game and Julius Peppers picked a peck of Ben's pocket and put the game out of reach. They also scored another defensive touchdown. Back when we were competitive, we used to do that sort of thing but we haven't for the last couple of years. I remember one play the other night when Timmons and Wilson tried to execute one of the Steelers staple blitzes, the cross blitz, and the Bears EASILY picked it up. Teams have our blitz packages figured out and it shows in the results. I'm not giving the offense a pass, BF, but you seem to be holding the defense blameless and I don't think that's the case.

Totally serious, whats the name of the game Jack? Keep the opponent out of the endzone. I have no idea how you could even question that the offense is to blame in all 3 games. So basically, the first 2 games our defense should have held the Titans and Bengals to a TD since we couldn't score more then 10 points in either game and we'll just forget the offense handed the Bears about 21 points.

I already said it's bad that the defense isn't getting turnovers but look at the games themselves, you're basically saying go home offense, defense will do to all for you. Absolutely the offense is responsible for all 3 losses.

What does "I'm not giving the offense a pass" mean to you, BF? But this IS NOT the same opportunistic defense we had when we were competing for Super Bowls a half decade ago. We were number one in the league last year but did it really feel that way? NO! The answer is no. I'd rather be 10th in the league and near the top in creating turnovers and getting sacks. There is plenty of blame to go around, BF. OFFENSE and DEFENSE!

By the way, good morning. Hope you slept well last night. Had breakfast yet?

What does "I know it's bad that the defense isn't getting turnovers" mean to you? ;)

My point is, that the defense at least showed up in all 3 games, the turnovers are lacking but they did more then enough for us to win everyone of those games if only the offense decided to show up as well.

Didn't get much sleep, stayed up much to late as usual, I blame TTF for this and his crack addict board. I had Franken Berry for breakfast, Halloween special, only comes out this time of year around here :lolol:
