Does make you wonder why they went away from what worked in the first half. Was it completely Ben can't do those things or doesn't want to? Or that this team can't help shooting themselves in the foot?

    Good news (I hope).
Who'd they hire for OL coach?

No, I think for years this is how the team was led. A carnival atmosphere with no one being the adult. Out of control players, young QBs without a coach, then they get a coach. Fountains Follies. I think maybe the pimple is closer to popping now. All this gets corrected by winning for the entire season and a new HC.

Nobody yet. Unfortunately I think they're gonna have to settle for college level because there's just not much out there. Doug Marrone went the other way and went to Alabama to be their oline coach. He was the best one out there.

When it's all said and done, we'll end up with a KMart Blue Light Special coaching staff.

It is, but you also have the career guys who have chosen to be the big fish in a small pond. Billy, Stan, and Sam were the mainstay sports TV guys for years, who supplemented their time with local radio shows. The newspapers usually have their main guys as well. With the explosion of different media outlets I am sure that has changed somewhat.

I think teams can have their hand forced if someone else they like starts interviewing and getting attention

and of course the importance of having an OL coach first(their words last week) will be forgotten or spun to fir the current narrative, lol.

I realize that I reported this a bit early.

sometimes I have a problem with being premature.

    just ask my wife...

Remember no real preseason, so what they put in was somewhat successful at first, but limited. The initial sweeps were quickly read after the first week or two. Plus I just do not think they have the right players in place to fully make that O work, especially the o line.

Seems to me that they stopped the sweeps after Claypool fumbled. I recall Ray-Ray doing some after that, but not a lot. Think Claypool ran one more after the fumble. Going from memory so I could be way off.

Just another blown report. Maybe someone in the organization said Canada is the favorite to get the job but I don’t think that was ever conveyed to anyone. If Canada thought he was a shoe in to be OC, then why go on an interview with another team.

Also those jet sweeps were rarely succesful, IIRC. Seemed like they lost 2 to 6 yds every time. I can see why you’d sour on a play like that after a while.
