This was overdue, but won’t fix it all.

I really didn't know much about Eddie Faulkner. I like how he handled this. I also wonder which media outlet or outlets mixed up his picture and Teryl Austin's.

Seems to me that you heard what you wanted to here. He didn't rip his friend to shreds, so you assume the worst.

That said, what did you expect? They aren't going to overhaul the entire offense this late in the season.

perhaps just possibly he could have at least said that they are gonna do there best to get better offensive production???

Best player on offense we have!

Warren looks like he could be legit and I think Pickens with a real QB would be a stud too although I question his route running.

Kenny also said don’t expect much changes but to your point with 7 games left they can’t implement a brand new system that you would need months for. Although with as bad as this system seems to be working could anything be worse offensively?

The system has slants and seam routes. It has plays that attack the middle of the field. They just rarely used them. Making those a bigger part of the offense wouldn't technically be a huge change, but it would be a welcome adjustment.

Some of those field charts on Kenny’s throws are almost unbelievable. How could an NFL team not even try the middle hash marks for games at a time. Unfortunately I think that may be a byproduct of MT more than even Canada.

There are only 5 teams that use the middle of the field less than us. They are the Chiefs, Eagles, Cowboys, Bengals, and Bills. I'm not saying our system is similar or anything, but those are all very nice offenses. They all also have very good QB's. The system might have had a good bit to do with our overall issues, but there were plenty of plays to be had in Canada's system. We see in all-22's the wide open guys (usually DJ, or at least the last couple of weeks it has been him) that Kenny flat out misses, or the huge misses in the Titans game that could've accounted for multiple big plays. I'd be more excited about the firing if Kenny was maxing out Canada's system and it just wasn't working. Canada's system had big plays in it... Kenny just didn't make them. A new OC isn't going to make him magically not suck.

Now, one thing I would be interested to see is how our RB coach plays our backs in his gameplans... I am really hoping Faulkner's input puts Warren on the field a lot more. That alone will help us move the ball better.

Wow that is shocking where can I find that data because it’s hard to believe. In terms of KP play I agree I’m not seeing any part of his game that stands out positively. More Warren and less Cement Boots Harris would also help. We shall see.

I don't have that info, it was pulled from a tweet my brother saw (he follow a lot of NFL related analytics and stuff like that) and showed me. I'll see if I can find it and reference here, because I was relatively shocked too.

Warren is playing like a top 5-10 RB right now, no reason not to give him more touches. I know there won't be a ton of difference, but the gameplans and personnel decisions could be have the biggest impact we see.

This is comical to watch. We’ll find out soon enough if Pickett benefits from Canadas departure but he definitely had to go.

Good example of why Harris is frustrated BF. When he was in the game, the D knew there was a 90% chance of him getting the ball and stacked the box to stop it. Hopefully, the changes can at least keep the D honest and make em pay when they assume run.

Yeah, I’ve noted this before. When we run motion it’s not designed to force the defense to adjust coverage responsibilities at the snap. Most of the time the motion man gets to his spot and stays there for a 2 count before the snap. Window dressing without a purpose.

seeing a lot of teams doing this motion and the receiver makes his turn at the snap (or before) and it seems it's again a refs decision if it gets called or not. this is giving the receiver an advantage. tyreek hill for instance. like he needs more of an advantage. i'm sure the steelers would be called for it at a critical time. these grey area rules need to be addressed but they won't be.

This may be old news but apparently Canada did not get or want any input on the game plan from anyone including his assistants and probably quarterback

No Canada, first 400 offensive yards for the steelers and they move the ball all game long....If Tomlin would challenged the TD of Johnson they would have more points but they still score in each drive in the second half...Good first step, now they need to continue to improve!

Go figure, motion on offense with a purpose. Gives the defense something to think about, mixes up the tendencies on offense and moves the defenders eyeline slightly, which keeps defences honest and guessing a bit
