You could be right.....Crennel has a track record of putting together good defenses.....so far our DC not so much. I guess even 7 mil. was out of our price range or we don't see him as a fit, idk.

And why is it all about us? How do you know if he maybe didn't want to play for us. The Leveon situation to a lot of people could be a turnoff .

Cause I like you Blast, you are the eternal optimist, and like seeing you pissed off about this but meant no harm in using part of your post. I am to pissed for other reasons but I knew they wouldn't get the Honeypot because well, THERES NO MONEY! The Restructure everyone comment is for a few individuals who can't see the forest through the trees. This team has made a decision and was in deep trouble cap wise before they made that decision. They have restructured 4 heavy hitters who already make a boatload. The team you see is the team. All chips are pushed to the middle now. The 2 major holes on defense will be addressed in the draft. I can see Dirty Red and Wilcox/Sutton starting the season, and possibly longer depending on the players they get in the draft. Sorry now i'm rambling. No harm no foul Blast :drinks:

Not likely. You're young but its pretty universally known that playing for the Steelers organization is better than other teams.

Badger didnt sign here because he probably wasnt offered anything. Its not rocket science.

Well I am sorry you feel this way and I get where your coming from but I have said EXTEND Ben and Pouncey not Restructure which is a big difference. We can do that and not hurt our self in the future and free up a boat load of money. Also we have guys making to much money that have no use on this team. Wilcox 3.1 and Sensabaugh 1.4 almost has enough for a fa ILB or S. Add in the EXTENSION'S and we are at least at 15m if not a lot more. We have the money it is not about Bell taking up the space it is about the Steelers not wanting to spend. imo :smiley1:

I Just need you or someone to show me a team with two rookies that arent the top of the line game changing prosoevts starting at probably the two most impactful positions on defense and to top off on a defense that is one of the worst in the nfl going yo
Your taking one out of how many people saying something? That's like me pulling up Emmanuel Sanders leaving us for Denver and saying he's now playing with a real qb and a real organization. Tre Boston had an offer from us last yr and went to the chargers. That doesn't mean anything every free agent isn' knocking down the door to come to Pittsburgh you can't please everyone the badger simply didn't want to come it's that simple. If he so badly wanted to come to pitt you don't they'd offer him.at least the minimum? He can go to almost any team he wants to for the right price he's that good of a player.

If they Steelers didn't go after him, they made a mistake. I know the guy has had some injuries, but the need at safety is desperate. That defense has other problems, but Mike Mitchell's play was absolutely at the top of the list.

I was until I thought about it. Steelers could have easily made this move. Then I remembered the Cards are Steelers West. Maybe they got word he's not worth it. I trust the Steelers FO.

Yeah yeah. I've heard the same about RG3, Dak, etc. These run/pass QBs are always good in their 1st season until teams get tape on them and he's injury prone. Sorry if I'm playing on 1 year deal I'm going to an organization that is consistently great. Not to mention you want to be seen. Steelers are getting at least 5-6 nationally televised games to the Texans 1-2. Then again I'm not a dumbass. I'm going to laugh and bump this thread when his stock goes way down after this year. He really picked the Texans out of Saints, Vikes, and Steelers. Jags win the division and it will be a miracle if the even make the playoffs.

Seriously, you think a defensive player makes his decision on who to sign with based on a contract negotiation with a running back?

And in reality, there is no “situation” with Bell. He’s just 1 player working on a contract.

You really need to drop “Analyst” from your login until you have had time to analyze something.

Is the he the only free agent out there? You'd have a point if we were getting people an
Lol Watson is a pocket passer who can run. He had 19 passing tds in like 7 games. Rg3 had 20 in 16 and dam had like 23... And Dak played decent last yr. The cowboys as a whole were trash and if Watson stays healthy I'll takethem to win the division. You can keep sleeping on him but I knew he would be special when he dominated Nick saban's defense twice in the biggest of moments.

I've seen several players including defensive ones say he deserves to be paid what he's asking for.. he is one of the ten best players in the nfl and others watch when guys of that elk don' get compensated. He isn' just a "rb" he's a hall of fame caliber back..

@Busman@Busman you disagree but don't say why? I mean so many people here want to complain about giving Bell 14m but are ok with giving Vance and his 14/188/1 production in 10 games 20+m over the next 4 years???? Yeah let's give Vance 4m to be our 4th best weapon, sorry Bell, AB, Juju are all gonna see the ball and add in MB there is only so much left for Vance and being paid 4m imo is not worth it.

Bell is being offered a fair deal. We aren't trying to low ball him,he just wants to set the bar as a RB. If you thnk other players are purposely not signing here because they are looking at his situation and are turned off by it you're wrong.....Ben is getting paid top tier,AB as well and Tuitt,Cam, Decastro ,Pouncey just to name a few are all getting paid well for their positions. We take care of ours which is what we are constantly up against the cap with little wiggle room. Like I said the article at SD outlines a very plausible scenario,if you haven't read it ....you should.
