I don't feel sorry for him, he's being paid millions to sit on the bench, he will get a better opportunity someplace else next season.

Fine trade him to nfc to be a backup. 6th pick and we don't owe him a dime.

He's almost looking like he's about to start whinning. And we don't need a #3 QB doing that too our locker room.

I really don't feel bad for him at all.
1 amazing contract for how he's performed in games he stepped in.
2 given plenty of chances to shine when Ben went down
    3. Given pre season ability to shine, and clearly pickett out did him with receivers that had no chance to make the team.
4 he was given the option to go to Florida to train with Mitch and several other Steelers, but he elected to not go.

Folks Mason was given his chance when Ben went down with elbow injury. Hope the Steelers
get all they can from him when approached. Which maybe this year yet.

"No TDs in the game = no home runs in the bed," she said.

Kidding aside, Rudolph is a case where we can despise the player, but admire the person. Mason is just a good dude and ultimate professional. I hope he succeeds in his post Steelers life, whether that happens in a day or after the season.

He is still a Steeler. He indicated that he was told he would be the #3 before the clerical error of the depth chart.

You don't trade him for any less then a 5th round pick.

He hasn't squawked. He is making money.

He will be somewhere else next season if not traded.

All this hub bub for a a back up QB who really is not that good.

Remember when Cowher tried for years to replace Bettis. JB actually took a pay cut and mentored his “replacements”. Didn’t say anything negative and when opportunities present themselves, he just went out there and took care of business

IMO, there appears to be more whining from posters that MR is on the team than MR not getting to play.

I think it was back when MR and Dobbs were competing for a role on this team and MR clearly performed above Dobbs (obviously based on our coach's decision who to keep) but so many seemed upset that we kept MR instead of Dobbs even after he won a fair competition. It doesn't seem that MR would be able to do anything for some to accept him as a Steeler. Well, best wishes to him in whatever he does or wherever he goes.

I think the Steelers will hang onto him for at least the first 6-7 weeks until the trade deadline is up just incase Trubisky or Pickett get hurt and then Mason can slide in and be number 2 after that. I still think he could still be traded by the trade deadline but it won’t surprise me either if he is here the entire season just incase somebody gets hurt and they need depth.

Players get hurt, I like our leverage with MR if teams are willing or want to talk to Steelers that will benefit the Steelers. We have some other players that could be available also to package. Remember you may have to give something to get something. We have fleeced other teams before. Jerome Bettis anyone?

I think the most recent one was on purpose to try and get him to demand a trade.

The FO should have traded Mason. Why continue to string him along?

If you want an insurance policy, go sign a vet off the street to be the No. 3. You have the cap room for a one year rental that isn't going to cost much anyway.

While I agree, that assumes there is a demand and market for his services and another team would want to give up draft capital. Doesn't appear to be the case. This situation is like deja vu with the Landry Jones situation.

I agree that there probably isn't a market now but if they were getting interest a week or two ago (as was reported) they should have made a deal.

All this talk about Mason freakin Rudolph.
People would rather talk about a 3rd stringer instead of our new FA QB or our 1st round draft pick.
    Who cares about Mason.

Apparently not a high one at least. I imagine the offers being made have been for 7th rd. Even Dobbs fetched a 5th.

If they have gotten 5th rd offers for Mason and they haven’t taken it, they are ding dongs.

He clearly outplayed the other two the first two preseason games and in camp. It was never a three man competition and you are only lying to yourself if you think it was.
