When did Flacco become Chad Pennington ?

The guy made his name by throwing the deep ball. As I recall the throw that got them in the super bowl was a last minute bomb vs Denver. He stinks now because his arm strength has left him.

The Ravens changed their offense to be more dink and dunk later in Flacco's career, but the guy had one of the more powerful arms in the NFL in his prime. Like Flacco, Rudolph is a tall guy who does most of his work out of the shotgun and he is willing to stand in there against pressure. Unlike Flacco, he doesn't have a great arm, but he can do a lot with accuracy and touch. Flacco's career wouldn't be a bad outcome for Rudolph at all.

    Correct.

And Flacco is nowhere near a HoFer but he's had a helluva career. He's been a starting NFL QB for over a decade. Half of his career for MR would be great.

We as fans have a tendency to gauge NFL careers using perennial Pro-Bowlers as our benchmarks when the reality is if you're even in the league for a half dozen years you're above average. The average QB career is 4.5 years.

Patience is a virtue. I think if he continues to try and
improve his skill set he will be ok. Has to master reading defenses,
this will take some time and growing pains.
