Colbert Addresses Steelers Four QB Controversy: ‘We Hope That Ben Does Play For Five Years’
    http://www.steelersdepot.com/2018/0...sy-we-hope-that-ben-does-play-for-five-years/

Maybe this is what is weighing on Ben's mind. Deja vu all over again! (Thank you, Yogi!)
"What’s interesting about all this four quarterback talk right now is that when the Steelers selected Roethlisberger in the first-round of the 2004 NFL Draft, the team already had three other quarterbacks under contract in Tommy Maddox, Charlie Batch and Brian St. Pierre, who by the way, was selected in the fifth-round of the 2003 NFL Draft. Roethlisberger was originally supposed to be the Steelers No. 3 quarterback in 2004 after he was drafted but thanks to a season-ending knee injury suffered by Batch during training camp, the first-round draft pick started his rookie season as Maddox’s backup. The Steelers even decided to open the 2004 regular season with just two quarterbacks on their 53-man roster as St. Pierre was waived and signed to the practice squad."

For one Ben is way better then Maddon but there is nothing wrong with a little competition to ignite Ben's drive. It's been a long time since his rookie season ... in where, he had to prove himself

Ben needs a fire lit under his ass. Good motivation.

I think this entire thing shows the difference between fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers who are thinking about the long-term competitiveness of the team and an employee of the Pittsburgh Steelers who's only concerned about himself! Whether you like it or not Ben, the Steelers are preparing for life after you retire which could be tomorrow as wishy washy as you are.

Just me, but I’m guessing he survives the final cut at trying camp?

Mason can learn a lot about how to play QB from Ben. I see that happening. He seems intelligent.

Ben can learn a lot about how to think before speaking in public. I don’t see this happening. He seems .....

This stuff is so ridiculous. Both Ben and Mason were baited by the media. They both were given the others comments completely out of context. Nothing either of them said is that bad.
But of course the fans fell for it , blew it way out of proportion and ran with it.

None of this stuff is going to have an effect on anything.
Good for a few laughs though.

Ben is the media baiter. He is made the statement. No one put those in his mouth other then himslf. He is just being his center of attention whining self. Fortunately Rudolph appears to be far more mature than Ben.

This is not going to end well. Look at whats happening already. Ben makes some comments. Rudolph responds!! Colbert chimes in! This is how it's going to be all season. I can see Ben retiring after this year now. The media has a hold of this story and they aren't going to let it go. It will be draining.

Ben is a drama queen lol

    *gets hit and leaves game*

    *stands alone in despair*

*comes back limping and makes game winning drive*

    *grins the whole post interview*

“ I always believed in my team to have my back so I had theirs”

*shows replay of hit that missed him but still fell*

No. Ben was cornered on his show and asked about comments that Mason made about it not being up to Ben to mentor him.
    Ben responded with:
"I don't think I'll need to, now that he said he doesn't need me. If he asks me a question, I might just have to point to the playbook," Roethlisberger said with a laugh.
That too was probably taken out of context.

If he doesn't wake up one day and decide that's it. Of course he'll survive the cut. My point is that he's talked about retiring and still says he's taking it one year at a time, but gets upset that we grabbed a great value at quarterback in the third round? Come on, Ben.

Excuses you spew! He is a big boy with more than enough experience with media to answer tactfully. No, he is just an *******.

Ben started all this by threatening retirement and now he is upset that the Steelers took steps in case he actually retires. Really get tired of his drama BS all the time. Dude is a total douche. Luckily he's a really good QB most of the time, too.
