Mason is worth more than a 6th, 5th, 4th

Sorry but I do not want to see us trade Mason for some pointless pick that warrants us nothing. Mason has shown he knows the play book the best. So that's great to have on the sidelines talking to Trubisky and whenever the year comes for pickett. And no 4th, 5th, 6th pick can do that.

Now if we could trade for a starter. Than I'm interested. Because that could help our team. But stop kidding yourself if you think a late round draft pick is going to warrant us a good player next year. Because after the 4th, the odds get dramatically less and less of a decent player.

Lastly, Mason has put up with sitting behind Ben, and then witnessed admittedly after big ben, we get a starting QB, as well with our first round pick. Yet the kid stays positive and respectful. Not once has he sounded anything like how Bush is acting.... i really think Mason wants to be a steeler and help the organization. Yes he would love to be a starter, but I think he knows he's more valuable to helping us become better

I agree he is worth 3rd round pick. Mason could feasibly go into the right situation and push for the starting job.

Apparently he has been slightly grumbling about the amount of reps he is getting but when asked about the Detroit rumors said just like Coach Tomlin we don't address hypotheticals. He is in as bad a position as Landry Jones was, no indication from the coaching staff that they will design a game plan around his skills and even less that he is in the long term plan. Tomlin said the 4th string QB will get reps next week because it will be meaningless and they will protect the starters.

gotcha. I have not seen anything where he was negative or upset. And that interview asking him about rumors, he spoke highly of us and said that is just how the Steelers do with rotation around.

well you think they would be listening to you by now.

could you try to get us a backup RB. I like warren. but I like another option as well to put next to him. Or maybe LB and send bush off as well. LOL

No team is giving up a third round pick for Mason, he's an average QB and he's in the last year of his contract.

I’d take a 4th 5th or 6th. People greatly over stating the importance of Rudolph remaining on the team.

He’s looking at 3rd string roll, odds are against needing him and if by chance bad luck strikes again, there are a number of guys they could sign off the street that gives them what Rudolph can. Could care less if he knows the playbook.

I’d gamble on a draft pick over getting any meaningful snaps out of Rudolph this year.

Only way someone drops a 3rd rounder for Mason is in thoughts of him being a starter. I doubt that happens.

    - So very unlikely those picks work as to anything.
    - Those picks don't help us this year
    - Mason knows the playbook and can greatly help our #1 with breaking down a play and adjustments

By the way I'm not saying he is worth a 3rd. Just saying a 4-6 isn't worth it too be because he has more value to this team with playbook

Thats a crock of ****. Very unlikely? You’re just making stuff up.

Greatly help our #1 is another great exaggeration.

It’s more unlikely they need Rudolph for anything other than fetching footballs for Pickett and Trubisky this year.

I'd love to know what the organizations true thoughts are on MR. Confusing when I read multiple opinions all over the net.

IMO this guy could start the next two pre-season games and totally kick ass and I think the organization would still be confused as to what his role should be.

He seems to think he's capable of leading this team. I don't know but I'm sure the hell not sold on Trub. I would think we all hope this season is of great benefit to Pickett (learning, playing) and we have our QB for the next 10 years at least.

Too lazy to search but after Terry and Ben which QB has had longest tenure?? Kordell, O'Donnell, ?? probably some guy back in the 40's or 50's.

well, in the last year or so, the organization:
    - Brought back a washed up Ben
    - Signed Dwayne Haskins
    - Signed Mitch
    - Drafted Pickett
    - Drafted a 7th round QB, when they could drafted something useful

I’d say all of the above says the organization truly thinks MR is not viable starter and they’ll explore ANY alternative.

Rudolph is likely going to end up like Landry Jones.

Rudolph is a 13 pts a game QB, if we got a 4th it would be a steal.

That isn't making crap up. I could mention every player picked from 2000 to 2010 throughout those rounds. And I bet you would be shocked to see how many you don't remember the name.

Also yes having a QB who knows the plays better than you, helps a team a lot. Several teams get a "vet" for reasons like that. However Mason is doing that for us. And I can list that off of teams doing that.

I would be ecstatic with a 3rd. even a 4th. Might have to hold on to the playbook master until a team has an injury which requires a QB.
He is being paid pretty well to grasp that clipboard.
