I like Landry's numbers. Landry is playing his butt off. But, he basically has too. I would still be surprised to see Rudolph unseat him and QB #2.
Landry is a seasoned pre-season vet. I don't know in all my years, if I've seen a QB take as many pre-season game snaps as Landry.

I think it play out this way for this year.

    Ben QB #1
Landry QB #2 - He will leave after this season, but I think someone will keep him in a back up role at least.
Rudolph #3 -Active roster, but inactive on game days, he will only dress if an injury to Ben or Landry occurs.

Dobbs-Attempt to practice squad, if not he will sign on an active roster else where, if some one wants him bad enough.

This all said, Rudolph is going to be the future QB of the Steelers. But, they aren't going to rush it.

Rudolph's stats the past five practices have been very strong. He is adjusting well.

This. Started off poor and then just started taking off. Commanding the offense, improving on weaknesses and throwing beautiful passes in tight windows according to Alex from SD.

I guess we will see what he has in the preseason.

Landry doing well is great, can fill in for Ben. Mason showing signs of something is even better as it looks to be our future. Dobbs improved as well.

I hope Mason plays so well in the preseason that Ben just goes off and has a 5k 40 td season lol.

I would imagine, Landry, Rudolph, and Dobbs are going to get lots of action time this pre-season.

I bet Ben plays none of pre-season game 1, maybe 1 quarter game 2, maybe 1.5 quarters to maybe one half game 3, and then plays none of game 4.

This is what history has shown.

And who is it that cares what GM Kevin Colbert thinks? Ask him how far ahead LeVeon Bell will be In September. Colbert has no opinion that carries any weight with me. No Sir!

Yep. The best we can realistically hope for this year is Rudolph is an upgrade over Dobbs.

Those INT's are the main difference, experience vs inexperienced.

They have to decide if they can live with those mistakes or not.

yeah but you have to take account of his improvement.

    Practices 1-5: 49% 1 TD, 3 INTs
    Practices 6-10: 63% 6 TDs, 1 INT

Don't have to sell me on Mason, I was slow to get on board but I am now. He just seems to have the intangibles and it factor. Having said that though, huge difference between camp and NFL games. Him and Dobbs will absolutely make more mistakes, Steelers have to decide if they are ok with that. I would be, I think both offer more upside and play making ability to counter any growing pains along the way.

Once upon a time, Landry didn't have any NFL game experience either when he took over the #2.

Landry will be number two but it won’t be for long as Mason is getting used to the system and will be Ben’s replacement when Ben retires!

I cannot state ENOUGH how vital these games will be for all three quarterbacks. Each one has immense implications for not just themselves but the future of the Steelers as well.

    - For Dobbs, this could potentially be it for him in Pittsburgh. Have to perform as well as possible within every rep.

    - For Mason, time to see what you can really do. He turned it around within an NFL practice. Let us see if this translates into results within an NFL game.

    - For Landry, an audition for the 2019 NFL Free Agent Market. Even should he stay this season, his cap hit will likely push him off the roster the next. However, never too early to showcase your skills as a backup.

Time to find out who stays and who goes.

Darwinism at its finest. In the world of American Gridiron Football, for me, that is beauty. :herewego:

Dobbs will be the odd man out, Landry will be #2 and Mason will sit and learn. Next season Landry is gone, Mason is #2 and will take the reins the year after unless they extend Ben for another year.

More TDs this week for all QBs because they practiced red zone all week, they have to improve in the red zone since they were ranked 22 in red zone efficiency in 17, lets see how they do when they have to move the team down the field to get to the red zone Thursday in a real game.........

Landry can fill in even for those important games. Career 180 td's, 108 rating.
