I saw Goodell spoke out today about the failure of the Rooney rule to get a "desired outcome". He said he doesn't expect teams next year either to hire minority coaches so a "change" in the rule has to be implemented.
He didn't go into detail, he just said that it would brought up at the next owners meeting. The whole article is on NFL.com today.

Such BS coaches should be hired on their ability to coach, not the color of their skin

We dont have any Asian head coaches in the NFL. Goodell will address this as well? What about women? Eskimos? Track & field coaches?

Let's be honest here for a minute. There is racial preference and racism all over the world...... and it's all wrong! All choices should be made based on merit and not race!

The United States is made up of roughly 13% black and holding relatively steady, 18% Hispanic and growing, 6% Asian and growing.

Currently in the NFL there are three black head coaches which represents 9% of the 32 head coaching positions, four black head coaches would represent 12.5% which is very close to the 13% of total population so it would seem that four would be the proper number; 3 is one to few and 5 is one too many.

But why aren't these facts talked about ad nauseam?
    1. Where are the 6 Hispanic head coaches to represent the 18% of total population? And why isn't anyone complaining about it?
    2. Why is there such an inordinate number of black players in the NFL? And why doesn't anyone complain about it?
    3. Where are the 2 Asian head coaches to represent the 6% of total population? And why isn't anyone complaining about it?
    4. There are mis-matches of representation in the NFL, and all walks of life, but there is only one that is ever talked about. Why?

If only someone would come forth and say judge people by the content of their character not the color of their skin. Oh wait...
