...by trying to blocking field goals and PATs.

Seriously though, how long do you think it will be before he starts on our team, and not due to injury? Week 1? Week 8? Week 1 of 2013? Something else?

That depends entirely on how effective Colon is after two years of injuries

Is he a RT or LT?

....Honestly it would be great if he was a LT, I would like to see Gilbert as the other guard or keep him at RT.

You switch Gilbert and Adams and DeCastro and Colon, and I think you could have our line.

    Adams/Colon/Pouncey/DeCastro/Gilbert

Depth: Legursky, Essex, Foster, J. Scott

That looks pretty good to me. Hope Adams can stay out of trouble and W Colon stays healthy.
I'm wondering if one of our 7th rounders will be another T.

Colon can stay healthy with a high fiber diet.

He was right. You were just facing in the wrong direction.

Would love it if Starks could come back from injury and be a swing tackle B/U. Then maybe no Scott/Essex!

I don't need to post, just quote your post. That is my same starting o-line day one!

My justification is: Gilbert has already started at RT so why make a change. Adams has play LT his whole college career, so why not start him. His is better then Scott. olon shouldn't even be in the conversation as a starting RT spot. Thats Gilbert's spot. As far as I'm concerned with Colon, he has to earn his spot by proving he can play LT guard. He must also prove that he can stay healthy first and for most! If not, Legs and Essex get ready!

But their should be no question that Gilbert, DeCastro, Pouncey, and Adams should be starting. Throw in whoever earns the LT Guard spot.

    I think:
    Gilbert DeCastro Pouncy Foster Colon
    or
    Gilbert Legursky Pouncy DeCastro Colon
    or
    Gilbert DeCastro Pouncy Legursky Colon

If Colon comes to camp sub-par though he will be gone. Who knows?... Wow, good problem to have: too many promising o-line prospects and players.

If he would start, it would show me how correct I really was about the talent level
with this OL. Pouncey/ Decastro real deals, all others?

I believe that Adams will be the starting LT week one.

If Adams starts then Gilbert will be at RT and Colon is either hurt, cut or RG. Possible, and maybe good. If Adams starts I hope Starks is the backup.

    Adams DeCastro Pouncy Colon Gilbert
    Backups: Legursky, Starks, Essex

If Adams is capable; this is definately the best lineup. Also if Colon is the best RG and Gilbert and Adams do not switch sides.

Don’t forget that Gilbert can move to guard. He’s said he’s able and willing to play both guard spots. I’d be fine with keeping him at tackle and moving Colon to guard, but the team has been reluctant in the past.

If Adams can start, I wouldn’t be shocked to see:

    Adams – Gilbert/DeCastro – Pouncey DeCastro/Gilbert - Colon
    Backups: Legursky, Foster

i think it goes like this to start. adams, gilbert, pouncey, decastro, colon. i don't think they will leave two rookies together on the blind side year one. i see maybe essex and beachum as the backups. legs and foster make the team also. one of the scotts stay if they keep 10.

I'm assuming most people here are listing the OL from left to right...if not make sure you say which was your listing.

My fave option is in my signature (as if you're facing the OL...so right to left)

It will be Adams/Gilbert-Legs-Pouncey-DeCastro-Colon.... LT being the winner of camp competition between Adams/Gilbert.

Next year it will be Adams-DeCastro-Pouncey-Colon-Gilbert unless colon leaves then go back to the 1st line-up with Gilbert in Colons place.

Huh? No way Legursky starts without 2+ injuries, and no way Gilbert doesn't start. If Adams is ready it will be Adams - Colon - Pouncey - DeCastro - Gilbert, and if he's not it will be Gilbert - Foster - Pouncey - DeCastro - Colon. In both scenarios, the possibility of swapping the left and right guards exists.

I wrote this before hearing Colon was moving to LG. That changes EVERTHING. Before this my feeling was Adams & Gilbert would battle for LT. Pouncey/Decastro/Colon were locks leaving LG and here I liked Legs over Foster. Foster is better in "the phone booth" but Legs is smarter with less mental mistakes and a better pulling OG.

Your 1st scenario is most likely the way our line will look. No way is the 2nd scenario happening.

The Steelers have not stated they are moving Colon to LG. Only they are going to TRY him at LG during camp.

Those are two very different statements.

they called him and told him he is. so, yes they have stated he's moving to guard. now, if he stays there and earns a spot , well that's up to his play there.
