Hines blew off an invitation to be on the dummies show and he took offense. He then started insulting Hines to build his ego back up.

 

Mel Blount said "when Donnie Shell hit you you knew you'd been hit" and Donnie Shell even knocked Earl Campbell out of a game. That's some serious hitting. We've had some big hitters in our day. Heck HINES is on my list of hardest Steelers hitters and really I'd put the Bus on there too! Madden is just dumb and I remember seeing him on the Top 10 shows as well and thinking how dumb he is. He really is known for just "hating" stuff. He hates the term Steeler Nation and he also has talked about how Joey Porter was never anything but a moron. I think Joey was a vocal leader and a motivator and more often than not could put his money where his mouth was. Madden is just the posterboy for stupidity.

 

It's funny you guys say he knows hockey but I have never seen anything about hockey that includes him. Is it a local thing? I have lots of hockey friends many of whom are spread through out Canada and the US with varied favorite teams and Mark Madden's name has never come up not even among Pens fans. As many of you have said the only time I have ever seen him is on greatest lists on ESPN or NFLN and he always struck me as one of those guys that no matter what you are talking about he has done it and needs to one up it. "Oh you been scuba diving, Well I scuba dove with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef." "You had dinner at Bettis' resturant well He had me over in the VIP section just last night." that sort of thing.

 

He has said that hockey is better than football and stuff like that. He considers himself more of a hockey guy and even said on NFL Network that hockey was the best sport or something like that and then said "I bet you won't even air that" or something like that and they actually did. He's a self aggrandizing and self congratulatory buffoon.

Yes. At least it was. I can't stand to listen to him anymore. When he was on the local ESPN radio, he did seem to get a lot of locker room time with the Penguins.

 

I listen to Madden when I can and follow him on Twitter, if only because he's a train wreck. But following him on Twitter can be dangerous: he tends to repost and spread porn. Honest to God.
