I agree with you, but I'd be shocked if anything actually came of it.

Should have been a penalty - if it was against Brady , they call it.

    Against Brady he's probably ejected.

Hell, if it was against Brady, he'd be ejected, fined, suspended indefinitely, tarred, feathered, drawn and quartered.

This will be a repeat of the screw up in the 05 playoffs where Troy intercepted it and they screwed up the call. The league will say they got it wrong but in the end nothing more will happen with the exception of a "my bad" by the league

Yes, it was a penalty. But does it matter at this point?

Tomlin said he "didn't have a problem" with the hit. I don't really understand what he means by that. Like did he think it was "legal" but not malicious or what? Did you hear him say that? I just heard them saying he said it on cooler talk.

He got a lot of flak for blowing up about the headphones. Maybe he figures it's best if he just brushes it aside. At least publicly.

I'm sure it's something along the lines of "it's football"

Actually they said this week that the league sent out a memo telling everyone to shut up about criticizing the refs and other teams. I still think Tomlin would have said what he thought about it regardless though.

He literally just said "I didn't" I'm pretty sure when they asked him if he had a problem with the hit. I think that's what they asked him anyway.

I think in the terms of a football play it seemed like it wasn't anything big. Barron was trying to make a play and the unfortunate side effect of the hit was Ben possibly having a knee injury. I don't tomlin thought they were trying to injure Ben

If he's saying he didn't have a problem with it I think he's implying that it's football, **** happens.

Why do we care at this point that he wasn't penalized? We won the game. Who cares if he gets fined, how does that help us get to the playoffs?

Because we're tired of the double standards in the NFL, and of it being open season on Ben despite the rules ACTUALLY applying to other QBs.

I don't think it's too much to ask that rules be applied fairly and evenly. If you don't enforce them, that just messages the league that "you can get away with it if it's so and so."

I totally get what you're saying Ray but even as I watch it over, I just see a guy trying to get to Ben and make a play (sack) while on the ground and not giving up on the play. I could be wrong and you could be right.

And I get that he was trying to make a play.

Except you're NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT. You can't drive your shoulder or helmet into a QBs legs at or below the knee. Period. And every defender knows that.

We can only hope the league will take a look at it, and fairly.

To what end? Like Shaner pointed out the game is over and won, nothing to be done for it now.

I guess that's why they call it the Tom Beady rule--it only applies if Tom Brady gets hit.

For the same reason that James Harrison would get fined in the past up to 5 days after a game was over and done with. Just asking for our same pound of ________. I'm sure Cincy fans would still like to see Kimo get fined and suspended 8 years or so after the fact.

Against the rules and a penalty, yes. Dirty? That depends if he did it on purpose. I don't think so. He started stumbling so early, that would be one hell of a plan and one hell of an acting job.

Hope he ends up ok, but we have to move on. Vick has to step it up, and we have to run Williams to. Love levon, but Williams can be used to.
